ArizonaSports.Com Coach Poll a Farce?!

ArizonaSports.Com posted a fan poll of who fans want to see as the next head coach.

Of note, Sanderson Ford sponsored the poll and so far there are no specific numbers of votes.
Also of note, David Fizdale was left off the list while Steve Clifford and Kevin Mchale were

I usually don't comment on manipulated media, but there is NO WAY on God's green earth 70% of Suns Fans want to see Triano as the Suns Head coach in 2018-19.

This feels like a ploy for Sarver to bring back Triano on a cheap contract and use garbage like this to justify it as he is just doing what the "fans" want to see. Or Sanderson Ford had a sponsorship deal with Triano and are trying to get him hired.

So I wanted to get actual fans thoughts on who the coach should be and call out this *sponsored* poll for the sham that it is!

Out of that list I'd probably just flip a coin between Triano and Igor.

Also note that most "normal" sports fans probably don't even know who these people are aside from Triano. And maybe McHale.

I think most of the respondents know nothing about basketball, the Suns or the NBA.

The response to Triano was probably name recognition.

It is indeed a sham. It reminds me of the old saying, "Figures don't lie. But liars figure."

I'd be optimistic with Igor, a few of these guys I would be "eh", if it's Jason Kidd or a rerun of Triano I will be really really disappointed.

I won't be thrilled with Triano but as far as his coaching goes, I really don't know what he is. I didn't see anything impressive from him this season but most of the developmental coaching occurs during prior to the season. I just don't want him because he has not enjoyed the position in the past and I see more of that in his future. He got mostly a free pass from the media and fans, that won't happen again. But, just say NO to Kidd.

Agree and agree. I hope the Suns choose the best candidate who will (a) work well with young players and (b) not want out a season later.

It seems that people here seem to follow who the most likely candidate is at the moment, everyone started the offseason with Jay Wright as their choice and that switched to Budenholzer as it looked like he was a realistic option for the Suns. When that changed and Budenholzer was removed as a candidate Igor's name started getting tossed around a lot and that seems to be who the majority of people on this site would like to see as the coach and I don't blame them for that but I'm sticking with my original picks. Only one of my original 2 choices is available here, and that's Fizdale. The other is Jay Wright and I don't see that happening but until the Suns make an announcement I'll hold out some hope for him, even if it's highly unlikely. I like Fizdale and think he got a raw deal in Memphis. Everything I read about him prior to the start of the offseason was positive. He clashed with Gasol and since Gasol is buddies with Memphis' owner it didn't take long for Fizdale to be shown the door there. He's young and could take over for the next decade, if he's successful, which I think he can be. With Igor as our coach I think that leans us towards taking Doncic in the draft and that's 1 reason I'm not too excited about him as our coaching selection. I wouldn't mind Igor at all and he'd be my 2nd choice behind Fizdale of the people listed on this poll.
