Of course in that same interview Payton also said that he could play alongside Nash in the backcourt. I don't know about the rest of you, but this led me to believe that he would expect more than just the 18 minutes backing up Steve Nash. I think they could work just fine together. The question is whether there is any playing time for him other than as a backup point guard.
