Rice can be an excellent player when he wants to be. If he were 1/4 as good as he thinks he is, he'd be in the pro bowl every year.

Ouchie cracks me up, he sits and lurks the board waiting for a group of people to agree on a subject, then he swoops in and tells them all how wrong or stupid they are. In fact, the only person he agrees with, it seems, is Cheese.

It's possible make a strong counterargument that Rice is a good player who would be an asset to any defense, including ours. The intellectually weak route is to not make a counterargument, but rather attack the sources of the argument you don't agree with. On top of that, throwing in ridiculously bombastic, authoriative statements on topics it's not possible to know about (like my football viewing habits) makes the poster look foolish.

Eh, a bad day for Ouchie I guess.

A) i'm never afraid to look foolish.

B) it's difficult to look foolish when you're almost always right. my track record with anything football is pretty damn good, despite what some of you might think. i'm usually right when i call out a team as bad, a coach as good, a player as a good gamble, or the relative value of a player.

C) i base my comments on your football watching prowess (and really it was directed at the throngs of sheep, not you personally) on the ridiculous comments that are posted on this site every day.

D) (in response to card trader) i usually find myself agreeing with russ and skorp, sometimes k9, and yes, i do share a brain (the larger half) with cheese.

PM'ing between Cheese and I.

I was trying to explain that there are ways of saying things without coming across as so inflammatory. I told him that it just seems like you two brothers get awfully animated without realizing how you come across sometimes.

That's all.

It's cool.

i'd say that really only applies to cheese. if i come off as inflammatory it's usually 'cuz i'm stirring the pot. rarely, if ever, do i really think anyone on this board is as big an idiot as i may make it out to seem. really, in my memory, only tango has ever really gotten me mad. but anything i type is very calculated. if my message is caustic, it's because i meant it that way. i'm just a troublemaker. i always know how i come across. cheese likes to push buttons also, but i'm not so certain he's usually doing so with a wry grin on his face as i usually have . . .

It's pretty funny that people on this board interpreted Rice's comment (which was pretty non-committal--naming his present team, his prior team, and the team that he was rumored to be traded to) as "Rice wants to come back to Arizona!"

There was nothing at all in the article that said that. Simeon just says what people are thinking.

Nope, not one poster said Rice wants to come back here. One person said "if" he's thinking about it, another said "he'd better think twice IF".... So, no one interpeted his quote as "Rice wants to come back to Arizona!"

He DID say he can be great here, or in San Diego. That's what people are thinking?

C'mon, AJ. "Armpit no more??"--the very title of this thread--implies that SOMEONE thought that Simeon would be interested in coming back and playing for the Cardinals--subtextually because "now we're good, and Simeon wants a piece of the success." If that weren't the case, what would be the raison d'etre for this thread?

Being in the dog days of the offseason is the real explanation of this thread's existence. :)

It's just odd that he would bring up Arizona in that context. But, then, Simeon is rather odd, he's a different sort of "cat".

And I quote my own disclaimer - the very the first sentence in this thread...

Read this article on PFT and couldn't help but laugh at Rice's comment that he will produce if he continues his career with the Cards. I know it's somewhat take out of context, but I just find it funny.

BACH, don't you realize that you don't actually have to read the posts in a thread to merely bash it's existence? Message Board 101.

I'm so glad you are here Ouchie, so you can tell us how wrong and ignorant we all are.

Where would we be without you?

really. At least address someone by name instead the blanket "y'all" call out.

Also, rice is good, but his antics counter balance how his talent strengthens a team.

When he slows down a step or two, he will instantly become a liability (unless he learns to shut his mouth, which is possible I guess).

wanting to let sleeping dogs lie here - But Harley, how does the fact that Ouchie seems to agree with me most of the time prove what you're saying here? I'm not saying I don't post with animated responses sometimes (as if I'm the only who does it , but this seems like kind of a weird place to say I told you so (especially when there's much better examples on the Suns board!).

"..And in this corner.."

As for me and my uncouth, twisted mind, I would call simien's abilities in the uper 1/3 of the NFC, and his off field behavior and self promoton somewhere near to ruining team chemistry for the Bucs.. Of course I hate the Bucs, :biglaugh: so I sent Stirfry a picture of himself and a pocket mirror..The perfect Gift..
