Ehhh. I never give meddling owners that much credit. I do give credit to Jerry Jones for at least naming himself gm instead of just appointing a yes man for the optics..
If you ever get the chance
you need to do some reading about Al Davis and the Raiders.John Maddden loved him and repeatedly said Al Davis did not interfere in any way and was very smart and open to the opinions from his scouts,Coaches, etc.

I don't recall much of the more youthful Davis to be fair.. I really only can go off what I saw towards the end when he was losing his mind. But I wouldn't argue with Madden. Love that guy. Still miss that voice on TV damnit.

Al Davis was a battler for the AFL.Even was commissioner for a short time.Fought tooth and nail for the league getting equality with the NFl and was a big force in the Merger.Loved the players and always said the team comes first.madden said he never had a issue with Davis when it came to anything to improve the team.Davis was a pretty good judge of talent also.madden tells the story about Al Davis called him and said "I found your next Fullback" .Davis had watched a workout in a gym at Colgate university and saw Mark Van Eeghan working out with teammates.Van Eeghan played 10 years in the NFl and rushed for nearly 6000 yards and played in 2 Super Bowls.

slanidrac, I think NFL teams base their rankings on their coaches and scouts, not what the media says. And if you were kidding, I apologize.

Peter Schrager said (in the last 5 minutes) on NFL network Cardinals are taking Murray. It's done.

Why would he say how he knows?

just wondering because why should his word mean any more than any other talking head? Not trying to be snarky or anything just seriously wondered if he just said unnamed source said so or rumor he is hearing?

For reals, He said it casually with same authority one would say Sun rises in the East.

N'Keal Harry just said that the Cardinals told him that if he is there at 33, they are taking him.

I don't like this for at least two reasons:

1) Never tell draftee's your plans because word will get out.

2) I really really want us to trade down at the top of the 2nd for more picks.

So if a big offensive lineman or defensive lineman falls then no Harry

Otherwise he feels he is above guys like Hollywood

Good gut check.

If we take Harry at #33, we'll know we can trust Schrager. If we don't, we will have learned a sweet lesson.

Pretty sure Schrager comment was reference Murray not Harry. Just FYI
