Of course a fumble is never expected... but sometimes you have to tip your cap to the other guy and say he made a nice play.

Did you see where Roy Williams head was?

YUP. and if he had anticipated and covered up he should have been able to hold on. he never placed his left arm over the ball blocking an escape route even though he saw Roy Williams coming right at him.

A helmet hit right on the ball.. I would predict 7 out of 10 rb's fumble, but hey don't get me wrong.. I would have wanted him to protect that ball. I'm just glad that he actually had somewhere to run for once.

And yeah, JR Redmond was damn impressive. He made the cuts last night alone, on returns alone. Man, his returns were awesome...fought for every inch of the field he could.

yeah. we had more yards on punt returns on Redmond's first two tries than we did all of last year. Pretty impressive.

Maybe so. But he certainly didnt do anything to relieve my skepticism.

P. Manning throw only incomplete passes. So may be the Colts should cut him. No it is just to early to tell, the kod will be fine.

Too early to tell. The OL definitely had problems blocking for run.

Personally, I like Shipp and am rooting for him silently :D

I didn't realize you could judge a plyer on four carries in a preseason game.

It's ridiculous that the people that are JJ haters just happen to be Shipp jockers.

Arrington: 4 carries/12 yards

Julius Jones: 6 carries/10 yards

I would say that zero conclusions can be made about the starting RB's based upon last night's game.

Geez, give J.J. a break. His first real NFL action and he fumbles on a play where he got blasted. At least give him credit for bouncing back up.

Redmond has already made the team.

I like Shipp and JJ...

I would be a rare breed except that I think most people like them both and want them both to suceed.

I don't see why you have to like one or the other?

Exactly, I hope they make a great 1-2 punch, and they can both succeed. The only success that matters is the Win/Loss collumn, and I don't care who gets the carries as long as we dominate the Wins and Losses.

I read on PFT that might be possible in a short while. The Bears don't think that there's a gap between Jones and Adrian Peterson and really liked what Benson did in mini-camp. As soon as Benson is signed and ready to start Jones could be gone per their source.

Anybody remember the game against Denver a few years back where Portis fumbled against us I think THREE times in one preseason game? RB's have an adjustment to make just like everyone else and fumbling and blitz pickup are often 2 of those areas (along with finding out you can't run laterally and outrun pursuit like you did in college). Portis came out ok, I think JJ will too, he'll adjust. Roy Williams causes lots of guys to fumble. If he fumbles consistently it will be a problem, but we don't know that yet.
