JJ is shot.... Seriously, he rally shouldn't be used much from here on out. And Reed scares me. He throws a very hit table ball. You don't see many batters swing and miss when Reed is pitching....Gyrko crushed that home run tonight off if Reed. He's now given up 4 HR's in just 15 innings if work... By hat spells bigtime trouble..

Yeah Reed's control is an issue. He can't paint the corners consistently. That said, with the big lead last night he was just throwing strikes.

I was very impressed with McCarthy last night. Great command of his pitches.
He's better than his record indicates.

We're still on track to lose about 108 games. Don't get too excited about beating the Pads right now... They're stinking it up, too. Let's see how it goes against the Brewers. If we look good there, then maybe we can think realistically about our team "coming around."

Tough set of games against the Brewers and back to Chicago to play the White Sox. Winning a series is a big step forward though.
