Isn't there a small window of time you can trade a player you just drafted? Like ... doesn't it have to be on draft night?

The window is open until the player signs a contract, and then you can't trade him for three months or something like that.

i gotta tell you, I will die laughing if the Hawks take Yi. Unprotected Lotto 2008 here we come!

There will be no one like Oden or Durant in next year's draft, but the 3 through 5 may be as good or better than this years. The Top 10 value in 2008 will depend on how much weight you put in a player like Chase Buddinger.

Bobby Simmons might actually not be that bad a move. He was a 42% three point shooter last year in Milwaukee - 43.5% for the Clippers the year before that. Who knows how well he'd shoot with Nash giving him open looks? If we got Noah, we could run Stouds-Noah-Simmons-Bell-Nash . . . if we then got Belinelli at #24, we'd definitely be a much deeper team IMO. Noah wouldn't "replace" Marion's contributions per se, but he's a similar kind of "hustle" player, with the added size. It would make us a bit bigger, and we'd actually match up to SA better, I think.

What were Simmons's injury issues? Is he expected to recover completely?

With Chase, I think he is a better volleyball player.

A foot issue, he played ok at the end of the year, and he's expected to recover fully. Would I rather have Shawn Marion, or a healthy Bobby Simmons and (for example) Brandan Wright and the ability to offer Grant Hill more than the minimum? I trade Marion, without question.

Sooooooo ... Cheese man ... you know, I never completed college, but I understand the 3-act play and I've been known to turn a funny phrase on occasion. :D

Just sayin'.

But I'm not willing to buy Lakers' tickets. I think that would be my only hang up.

What's the pilot, Cheesebeef?

something NO ONE here will EVER watch - it's a legal pilot for Lifetime, but I could care less - it's a HUGE step for me - HUGE.

and yeah - couldn't care less - my career is WAYYYYYYYYYYY more important than my sports fandom.

I'm so jacked - so freaking jacked!

Even if Simmons would have been healthy last season, this trade would be a significant step-back for the Suns.
