I am looking at the lack of WR production vs Samuel in the last 2 years.

TARGETS AND YARDS.

Clear enough?
I guess? Those stats say he... sucks?

#79 in targets allowed in 2023
#77 in receptions allowed that year
#87 in yards allowed
Mid 80s in yards per target and yards per reception allowed

He's just a mid guy with a famous name. If he wants to come here and compete for Kei'Trel Clark's one defensive snap per game, more power to him. But I'm not depending on this guy at all.

Much less making Johnny Venerable Posts like "THIS GUY CAN PLAY" and then posting misleading tables. Get out of here with that -- hoping we won't follow the link,

Having looked into it, the CB room gets much smaller starting next off-season. SMB can get cut to save 7.25 mil. STV will be a UFA. Essentially frees up the CB1 and CB2 roles with Williams still under contract for the CB3 spt. I don't think the Cards are really invested in Clark and that leaves Melton and Jones as the only viable CB1 and CB2 options.
Not correct on SMB. 9.9M cap hit and 7.7M saving = 2.2M cap hit to cut him

1. He is a DB coach
2. He is a good DB coach, otherwise there is no promotion
3. Everywhere he has been the secondary production has outplayed the talent.
4. When he has left a team, the secondary of that team declined
3 and 4 are opinions, obviously. Doesn’t add up to an elite DB coach in any case.

Good point, I don't know anything about his performance but got excited when I heard they were hosting him for a visit him as its a name I am familiar with.

Hes referring to SMB who as the year went on actually played better
Yes, he actually did. The last four games or so he played like we hoped he would play all season. I see Asante Jr as basically the same level as SMB. Kind of a B grade CB. If we sign him, that means we are going to play him and one of the younger CBs will be gone. Probably Jones and or Davis

Yep. No call to write Melton off yet. That said, he needs to step up and start this year, or that's a waste of a 2nd-round pick. I would not sign a veteran CB at this point. He needs to play, and needs to be starting. No sense blocking his path to doing so.
Totally agree. Hard to cover for a minute and a half.

Share the metrics then, because your assertion isn’t evidence.
Metrics you could use as an example:
- Secondary rating in all places Gannon has been
- passing defense
- passing defense vs. quality of players
- quality of players measured in:
- production under Gannon vs. not under Gannon
- pff ratings under Gannon vs. not under Gannon
- Production vs. salary
- Production vs. exprience and draft status.

This can all be correlated against different metrics.

BUT I will not spend time on it. It would be a complete waste of time for me.

I could present the best statistical evidence possible to prove my point, but seeing how you argue here, it would be a waste of time.

You would attack a single of multiple metrics (guessing pff) and focus on that for the rest of the thread while being super condescending.

That would take focus away from every single point other other metric I present while you offer absolute ZERO metrics to prove me wrong.

Waste of time...

Classic. Make assertion. Asked to support assertion. Indignantly decline.

Just say you made it up and hoped no one would say anything! It’s not real!

I gave you 10 potential metrics to supporting view.

I would do it most on this board asked. But a complete waste of time to support my statement for someone way interested in being right than the discussion and facts. I can be 95% correct, but all you would want to discuss is the remaining 5%.

Why waste my time on that? You never offer anyone the same courtesy, so why should I?
