CBus and Stout did darned well in the ASFN/BRS Mock Draft challenge.

CBus had 7 "direct hits" (players and teams) and accurately projected 28 players (out of 32) to be drafted in the first round.

Stout had 7 direct hits and 25 correct 1st rounders predicted.

Jersey Girl had 5 and 28 (way to go Wendy)

GarthShort had 5 and 26

Pariah had 2 and 24

Stretch the Field had 2 and 23

Yours Truly had (ughh!) 6 and 24.

By comparison, the media (which understandably has better access to various war rooms) scored better - but not by a whole lot.

Mike Mayock (NFLNet) had 10 direct hits and 27 correct 1st rounders

Kent Somers had 9 and 26 as did Gary Myers of the NY News

NFLNet's Carucci had 5 and 28.

Pat Kirwan had 4 and 27

Todd McShay had 6 and 27

Pete Prisco had 4 and 25

Harry Green had 6 and 26 as did USA's Wood.

I was surprised that, in so unpredictable a year, the number of correct 1st rounders was so high. And it tended to be the same culprits who were incorrectly pegged - (most notably Len Dale White, Winston Justice, Jimmy Williams, Ashton Youboty).

Thanks to all who participated. Full results are published in the BRS.

I'm happy my mock didn't pan out, we ended up with much better players than I anticipated.
I agree on my Draft as well. I wanted Ngata but never would have taken him over Leinart. We ended up addressing DT big time later in the draft so that need was taken care of and Duece I had us taking him in the 3rd so it all worked out. Great Draft again for DG and RG. WE ended up with really good football players.

Wow, and here I thought that was terrible! I guess in such an unpredictable draft 7 direct hits is good.
That's what i was thinking also.

monday morning qb.....THE qb had to be the choice....as much as i tried to rationalize not taking a qb who coulda' figured the most developed of the three would be there...he was the only one...whatever......i think justice would have gone to us if not taken by philly.......it appears that we will fill the holes that are left through FA, cuts (duh) i mention this 'cause they are not going to sit on their "laurels" and will go after it...i don't think anyone can give managment anything less than an A for effort and A on results...before they strap 'em up...now we gotta' look as good on the field and we are looking on paper!! watson could be the bidggest steal of the draft...DT was a very week group overall and to find an oyster with a pearl would really be something...
