Something tells me his stock will begin to boil the closer we get to draft day. He's got the size, speed stats & nastiness to justify a 2nd rd selection.

IMO the Cards should stay away from both because I don't think either will have be able too or have successful careers as 3-4 OLBs & it's a HUGE need for this team!!!

Not trying to rain on your parade, but IMO he's nothing special...just like the previous 2 guys before him. Big, strong & powerful but not enough wiggle for the NFL game IMO.

I might be wrong here, but in the few games I watched he seemed to have very quick feet, good lateral quickness and a wicked spin move.

For me personally, I feel like the drop off between pass rushers in the 1st and 2nd round is too much. There are legit Centers and Safties available in the early 2nd due to their "positional rank". I chose Barrett Jones. Aside from his injury, here are some positives:

1. Experienced. Four year starter for a powerhouse university.
2. Versatile. Has played RG, LT, and C throughout his career while earning three BCS Championships & multiple prestigous awards at each position.
3. Leadership. Named team captain his senior year. Earned awards for his community service.
4. Intelligent. 4.0 GPA while earning his Master's Degree. Has the smarts to transition from three different positions with ease.

And something I highly doubt we do. It simply goes against the philosophies & offense BA runs, which is predominantly a potent passing game much like Wiz did during his tenure.

I view interior linemen being just as important to a passing game as tackles are. We could have two of the most elite tackles sealing off the edge, but its useless if the three interior guys are being pushed back and collapsing the pocket.

Difference is it's much harder to find elite tackles because of what they're required to do.

ILB might be a little higher priority now as well. Someone who can play inside or outside.

I like Barret Jones but 38 is probably much too high for where he is ranked these days. I would be surprised to see him gone prior to the Cards pick in round 3.

His lack of elite strength and shorter arms have him falling. Then again, at this time of year, all you hear about is the negatives and why a guy is dropping instead of what the guy can do and why he was ranked higher in the first place.

At #38 the Cardinals need to be prepared for the unexpected. That's a spot in the draft where typically there are a couple of players still on the board who were projected to go in the top 35 picks.

One player that probably won't be there who would be, imo, a tremendous pick at #38 is Kansas St. LB Arthur Brown. Of course, now, with D-Wash out for the first 4 games, adding Brown would be outstanding---plus, Brown is very versatile, and is a 3 down LB wherever you put him.

If not, the kid out of Iowa St., Jake Knott, is an ideal player to take for WILB...and Knott, coming off of a labrum injury, probably could be had in the 5th round---but he's a good one, both in run support and pass coverage.
