ESPN Insider mentions the team needs Power Forward and Small Forward. This is a tough one right now, I was thinking PG but the team does have Speedy Claxton and Dan Dickau. If I pick Trade down and pick Deron Williams I'm not sure which team - I'd Trade up for...

I picked Deron Williams, the BPA on board. Hornets could let Dickau go and use both D and Speedy or make a Trade. I really like Deron Williams, he has quailities Nashesque but a much better defender...

I picked Deron Williams. BPA and fills a need. I think the Hornets only have like 4 Gaurds on their roster. Casey Jacobsen, JR Smith, Dan Dickau, and Speedy Claxton. None of them seems really like a floor general of the future.

I doubt that they will re-sign Dickau because he is probably a one-year wonder in one of the worst NBA teams.

I voted for Felton because:

1. He fills a need.

2. He is a hometown-guy.

3. Felton as a nice run-and-gun PG prospect may be a better fit to Scott and Smith.

I really like Felton but he's a little too close to Speedy Claxton, I figured Speedy and Deron Williams would be a good pair at the Point. With William's bulk, and teams playing two PG's in backcourt - Deron was a better choice. Both PG's are pretty good and not that far off of Paul, Paul gets a lot of hype though...

Oh man, I should've paid attention to that one... has there been interest from the Hornets, that you've heard? For Felton?

I don't see Paul going to the Blazers, are we assuming that the pick is traded. It might be better in this mock to just pick what position the player is going to be chosen, not to which team.

I guess that is the way I'll have to vote. I voted for Felton.

Dickau is an unrestricted FA.

There was a tie with #2 the Hawks, so I just kept it going a couple extra hours until someone voted, it might not of been that long - I did it at least 1 hour later than I wanted though...

Any ideas, though, if there was a tie for a long period of time?

I went with Deron Williams as well.

A friend of mine that is a Laker fan told me the local rumor right now is the #4 for the #10/Butler.

Anyone in the LA area catch wind of that idea? The Lakers would take Williams.

Damn, I was unaware of this. If I knew I probably wouldve voted for him instead. Home town guys always sell jerseys (ie Jake Plummer to the Cardinals)

Can't see why the Hornets would do that. Butler is a good bench player, that's it.

Considering the value of PG's, I cannot imagine the Hornets passing on Deron simply because they have some passable alternatives. Deron is the only guy in the country that could actually shut down Salim, and that is not as easy as it might sound. I'd love to have a solid point guard like him to go up against Tony Parker.

I think we should eliminate Green, as the vote is split among 2 pg's. We seem to favor that they are going to take SOME pg. I personally think they would rather have Deron Williiams, he is higher rated and 2-3 inches taller than Felton.

The Hornets select Gerald Green G/F H.S.

Gerald Green G/F H.S: Top-tier athlete, jumps with best of them, shot lights out at McDonalds All-American game, good passer, will penetrate, has the ability to be a defender and put up numers in steals/blocks
COMPARISON: T. McGrady
