Other vote for Martynas Andriuskevicius just because I don't think he's going to last this long...

I would think they take Simien or maybe Taft here and then take a guard two picks later, since the Suns would prob take the guy that's left between Simien and Taft.

Unless they are really thinking about cutting ties with Nene, I just can't see Denver going after a big here. They aren't drafting just to try to block Phoenix's selection or to mess them up - they are trying to get out of the first round. I see them drafting according to need with this pick, and they don't really need any more 4/5 depth. They could use a swing far more.

Since they also have the #22, unless they think that Phx will pick a swingman (most likely no), then it doesn't matter at this spot--they can pick up insurance at the 4, and then with the #22, draft their swingman.

I definitely think what Denver does here will depend on how they feel the Phoenix Suns will draft. The consensus so far has been that Denver will take a player to join the team now with one pick and a European player they can keep overseas with the other. This could actually be why Phoenix Suns is throwing out all these ideas about what they would do with their pick. Perhaps they want Denver to take one of the European players they like here, so the Nuggets don't end up with a player the Suns really want. I imagine there are some real games going on between these two teams right now.

Even though the Denver Nuggets don't necessarily need another frontcourt player there's no way they would pass on a quality one unless they were in love with someone else. Quality frontcourt players are at a premium right now. Who knows what Elson and Nene will do next year, or whether Marcus Camby will be able to stay healthy. If they got a good frontcourt player here they might be more willing to move one of those guys to get help in the backcourt.

I suspect that Denver will take the best player available here and a European player with the #22.

BTW I think we will have to redo this draft (much more quickly) as soon as this one finishes. It will help to know who is actually in the draft and who is not. It will also help to have the latest information. I just read that Andrew Bynum does have a promise of the top 14. Supposedly this is what his agent told New Jersey.

I think if Sean May drops this far it will be hard for George Karl to pass him up, that is if he can convince Kiki to take a Tar Heel. Karl likes smart players and has a hard time tolerating stupid mistakes.

If May is selected, Nene definitely becomes expendable.

My guess is that the Nuggets will take Ilyasova with this pick, since Rudy Fernandez just pulled out.

Maybe they'll take Diogu instead if he's still on the board. :p

How about since Jarret Jack is the only guy I see that we've Drafted - that is out of Draft? Has there been a full report?... and Martynas Andriuskevicius is 1 guy that's now in Draft and being that Jack would no way go there - we switch the 2 - it sucks but the Lakers could use a C?

LMK?

Martynas Andriuskevicius, really is the only guy that is 1st Round material (at least up to this point) that this board didn't Draft...

How far do most of you think, he would go Drafted? He probably would need to stay overseas...

I was going to leave the Suns Pick for 24 hours - so we have some time... and 20 choices.

Looks like Monta Ellis is going to fall to #21.

If he is really a legit PG prospect he might be a good pick. I'd like to see the Suns get somebody that can really contribute right away but if Ellis could play 7-10 minutes a game next year, 15 a game the year after and develop under Nash he could slowly become the starter when Nash approaches retirement.

The only thing that could stand in the way of the Suns being a top 5 team for the next 6-8 years is Nash getting older. Without Nash the Suns are not currently even a top 10 team.

I don't know if Ellis is the guy but I would like to see the Suns pick up Nash's heir apparent.

We could have an full draft day saturday or maybe make a thread where everyone posts their own draft list and see who comes closest. Maybe even write a program to combine the individual lists into one, based on some algorithm (though it wouldn't take need into account). BWAHAHA.

The Nuggets select Julius Hodge G/F North Carolina State.

Julius Hodge G/F North Carolina State: Three position player in the next level, stat sheet stuffer, excellent ball-handler, will penetrate, good prospect but will need to improve the 3PT shot - to be complete player
KEY STATS: PTS 17.0 REB 6.6 AST 4.8 - COMPARISON: M. Daniels
