A live Pgues album is being uploaded. Is it my computer/connection that is so slow to do this, or it the nature of the beast? It takes forever...and then half the time it tells me it's too big.

I think there is a 10Mb limit on attachments, so you'll have tobreak the album down accordingly. And yes, it was slow here too.

What is the real limit on attachments? I think I've been able to send as much as 14 or so?

Good question. Whenever I'm well over it alerts me to the 10Mb limit. But I have also attached more than that.

Yeah, That's what I've been doing, but I don't know I'm over until the computer thinks for a few minutes. Sometimes I can get 4 songs, sometimes only 2. :(

Good idea gang.

I think I will export a list of all the mp3 albums I have and if anyone wants any, I can put them up for dl, in gmail or otherwise. Caring is sharing.

Does anyone have Janet Jackson's "Janet" album, by chance? (the one with the cover of her (then) boyfriend cupping her breasts?)

That album is freaking awesome.

Start....Run
type cmd and hit enter
dir "C:\Path\" /b >file.txt

file.txt will put a text file in the location you start in not "C:\Path\"

Kanye

thankies ;)

Save to your HD and then unzip. Should be good to go.

Links removed 2/10.

Just remember, these are backup copies of the physical CD that you already own. ;)

where does the /b go?

this is really frustrating
Upgrade to XP

Open a command window and try:
DIR > file.txt

If that doesn't work maybe there's an alternate syntax in 98 for outputting contents to a file.

Wouldn't gspace be easier to transfer these files? We would just have to select what we wanted and let it do its thing.

Yeah, using Gspace (http://www.rjonna.com/ext/gspace.php) would make things easier to transfer big files (upload of files bigger than 10Mo works). GMailDrive is pretty useful to access the account, too.

By the way nm132, could you send me the password, please ? :)

Would we want to use gspace or Gmail Drive?

Some people don't use Firefox (which is required for gspace). Gmail Drive makes a virtual hard drive you can access through Windows Explorer (does everyone use Windows?). It's not crucial to decide now since asfnmusic is a few albums away from being full, but we should implement one of them for asfnmusic2

Don't worry, it was just a hint for people who upload things (I'm not even convinced that's these programs are that great). Anyway, these are individual user interfaces so that don't require any kind of implementation on the gmail account.
