Biedrins has been rising in all the mock drafts since playing well against international competition. He may actually get taken before the Suns get a chance to draft. :(

ESPN has a little Flash Lottery & Mock Draft thing, and the 4th or 5th time I did it, the Suns got the #2--the next redo we had the #1 pick... :D

In both cases, we took Dwight Howard. :p

Otherwise, around #7 or #8, we almost always took Pavel Podkolzine, and in some instances Ben Gordon.

I'm not sure how "intelligent" their system is though--they probably gave each team a certain draft card, and the system automatically picks from it.

Maybe after Pavel comes to the US we will get some idea why he is rated so much higher by these mock drafts than by anyone on this board. He certainly has not been hugely impressive in actual game situations. Right now I rank him fourth of the four Euro centers.

I can't really see any scenerio that makes drafting Ben Gordon make sense unless it is to trade him.

Use your imagination George. :)

There are all sorts of Sonora is that may drafting Ben Gordon make good idea. Most of them would involve trading Barbosa or the rights to Milos in the off-season. It may not be probable, but it is certainly not out of the realm of possibilities.

The only move I would rule out with 100% certainty is trading Amare Stoudemire. That will absolutely not happen. Otherwise I would say anything could happen.

I should have put it that it meant trading either Gordon or Barbosa or Vujanic. It makes sense to have two guys that size, but not three.

What about Ramos? 7'3" 280lbs

Sounds like the type of size the Suns would like to add. I wonder how well he moves.

Any ideas where he is projected to go?

According to Chad Ford:

Another guy to watch is Puerto Rico's Peter John Ramos. Ramos has been on fire lately down in the professional league in Puerto Rico. On Wednesday night, in front of a nice contingent of scouts, Ramos dropped 30 points and had 20 boards against former NBA big man Stanley Roberts. Roberts was held to two points and four boards playing against Ramos.
Ramos, a 7-foot-3, 280-pound big man, is starting to draw significant interest from scouts. Insider watched several tapes of Ramos in recent games and he looks pretty impressive. He's huge, can run the floor and, at this point, is a little more polished than Pavel Podkolzine.

His biggest negitive has been charges that he does not play hard all the time.

It was that Chad Ford bit that got me to ask about him.

I don't pay much attention to the draft untill the season is over. So much can change in a short time. A couple weeks before is enough time for me to brush up on who is going where.

It is difficult to talk too much about who the Suns will draft untill we know where they will draft.

It's easy to talk, just hard to do it intelligently.
