I spent years taking up for Bruce Bowen.
But for his past, I may have even given him a pass for the knee to Nash as being purely accidental contact the same as Marion's contact with Ginobili's face.
But you cannot discuss Bowen's present behavior without knowing his past.
I have finally said to myself--"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH."
I would be furious if another player on another team was constantly hurting other players. I believe that deep down inside, MIB would probably feel the same way, too. If that player kneed Tony Parker the way that Bowen kneed Nash--one of the absolute best--classiest players in the history of the NBA--I would want to rip his head off.
I want the people of Phoenix to know that not everyone in San Antonio would defend Bowen.
Even on the ticket 760 here in San Antonio, the hosts were at odds with each other on this subject--with one DJ simply stating that with Bowen, where there is smoke, there is fire.
I am not a basketball expert. I never played the game.
But it seems to me that--putting his subjective intent aside--if his play constantly results in hurting other players, it is totally irrelevant what his true intent is. If a person drives his auto 90 mph down a residential neighborhood, his actions are reckless, regardless of whether his true "intent" was to simply drive fast and show off and not to subject the general public to danger.
I am a die hard Spurs fan.
The attacks on Manu are totally uncalled for.
But the truth is that Bowen's play goes over the line and he gives San Antonio fans a black eye.
