I would like to know what his opinion of the current Cardinals QB situation is. Is he content with Blake, McCown and Parsons if Manning and/or Roethlisberger do not fall to us?
ESPN reports that the deal is worth $11 mil and not $10. It also says that Denny will receive "considerable control over football operations."
How will that control be exercised? For example, who will have final say on personnel matters, and will Rod Graves' role change within the new structure? And if so, how?
Are we going to employ a vertical passing attack offense? Or, looking at our O-line, are we going to be a punishing run-first team, with a short passing game?
Looking at his former coaching, I'd probably bet the former, but you never know.
This will also depend on DC, but...
What type of defensive scheme might we implement as our primary set?
1. In the recent past, the Cardinal front office has stressed personal character in the evaluation of players they want to bring in here.
A few years back, you bucked the trend and ignored Randy Moss's reported "heavy baggage", drafted him and then developed him into a super star. Can you share with us the thinking that went into that decision? Implications for the Cardinals in the future?
2. Although you've said you like the size and talent of the Cardinal offensive line, both the O-Line and D-Line seemed to lack explosion at the snap. Can this coaching solve this problem? Or is it more a matter of the physical characteristics of the guys we have?
My questions are related to the Draft and free agency:
First how much say will he have with regards to draft picks and free agents?
Second, does Denny beleive in drafting the best available player or does he like to go more for need with first rounders? Or maybe does he have some other philosophy?
MADCARD - I heard somewhere that Dennis Green and the Larry Fitzgearld family are personal friends. Given Coach's prior history, I would not be surprised to see him focusing on Fitzgearld or the Texas WR in the draft. Bottom line: now we'll probably go QB or WR with the third pick. Either Rothlisberger, Fitzgearld, Eli or Roy Williams.
