Yeah, we have Oswalts and Clemens and then Vargas going in the last game. No Webb. I'm pretty worried here. Hopefully Oswalt or Clemens has one of their few bad games.

We might have a chance with Oswalt tonight, but without Webb on Saturday vs. Clemens...well I don't know... unless Tony Pena wants too make a start....please?!

Oswalt tonight
Clemens Sat
Pettite Sun

No Webb

OH NO! This race is getting very complicated and these pitching match ups don't help. Lets hope we can score some runs cause we know Houston can't support their pitchers. 2/3 would be unbelievable

Well...so far the game has been pretty ugly. Our batting has been great, but in the second inning with a 3-1 Diamondbacks lead, Miguel couldn't find the strike zone on anyone, and the pitcher drove in two runs too tie it.

We need some better pitching.

Edit: Finally we break the tie! Hudson with a 2 out RBI single! 4-3 D'backs.

So who is winning the game?

You do realize he is a relief pitcher that has been up for 7 seconds. I can list about 37 of them in recent years that are no where to be found.

Damn man, those walks came back to haunt us. One hell of a 9th inning for us, shame we couldn't get it done though. At least we proved to the Astros and their fans we weren't going to just roll over and die in the 9th. Hopefully we can rebound tommorow, we're going to need it against Clemens.

Yeah, I know...but hey it would be nice if he could start for us. He's a great pitcher.

Really? Cause I saw a pitcher that teams are starting to figure out and he lost the game.

Our pitching sucks. :bang:The hitters shouldn't have to keep bailing them out. This team needs to go out this off-season and sign 2 or 3 good starters. We need a whole new rotation. Maybe keep in 1 or 2 of the younger guys but we need to get a 2 and 3 pitcher.

I heard he's starting the first game vs. the Giants.

I suggest we start giving this Luke Scott character the full Bonds At His Chemical Peak treatment.

Yeah well that's what happens with pitchers after a while. Pena -if he were a starting pitcher- would have been great since he's nice and fresh to the team.

but he is not a starter, while you are at it, how about Rivera from NY make a few starts.

...Uh...Yeah...I think that's been acknowledged about a few posts ago.

Yeah, there. I was just being hypothetical about Pena starting, sue me.

Callaspo and Bajenaru were called up before the game from Tucson. Choate was designated for assignment and Nippert was sent back to AAA.

Good news, I'm excited about watching Callaspo play. I think Bajeneru came over from the Sox for Cintron, should be interesting

Solid game by the Dbacks today to somewhat salvage the series. Drew had an absolute gem of a play at shortstop, throwing a perfect bullet to first base while still on his knees. Fantastic arm. Quentin also made a great catch today, and Vargas settled in nicely after a rough first inning.

Julio gave up another run. Good thing we were up 2.

Since have 3 guys around who have closed games before (Julio, Valverde, Lyon) I wish we'd rotate all of them so everyone stays fresh and (hopefully) start.

We just don't have a guy we can count on for 30+ saves. No sense pretending we do.
