The Arizona State vs UCLA game in Los Angeles on Thursday will only be televised on the PAC-12 Network.

So frustrating it is not available to more fans.

UCLA is playing so well right now... ASU is not, but they're winning in spite of their average at-best play.
This will be a very tough mountain to climb for ASU, their early dominant win over the Bruins not-withstanding...
If the Devils can somehow scratch out a win Thursday night, the game on Saturday against the Trojans becomes far less important... But if ASU were to lose tomorrow, they simply can't afford a loss at USC as well. Both Washington and Washington State will not be push-overs... Simply stated - if the Devils want to create the easiest path to the NCAA tournament, tomorrow night is a must-win!

It should have national interest but relatively few will watch it because of lack of availability and late hour (9 p.m. Arizona time).

IMO, the PAC-12 should have done more to garner a larger audience.

Not much the PAC can do at this point to garner a larger audience. When they we're making the schedules and dividing up the games, nobody imagined we would be where we are at.

I get Pac 12 but yeah it sucks more people can't see the game. As a UCLA fan, first time around Hill didn't play, Riley was struggling then and he's not a good rim protector so UCLA was throwing help inside and that led to early wide open 3's. Once ASU got rollign it snowballed it didn't matter what UCLA did, ASU was raining 3's and UCLA could not stop them.

Now, Hill is back and Riley has been on a roll, interestingly the ASU game was a catalyst for Riley, UCLA got way behind and had to play him with Hill out so they let Cody fight through issues and he wound up with 16 points in a blowout loss. He's hit double digits in 3 of his 5 games since that game so 4 of the last 6 off the bench including 16 in 19 minutes against Colorado and 19 in 21 minutes against WSU.

We'll see if UCLA can defend the 3 better tonight, the last few games they've been much better at it but ASU plays a small lineup and moves the ball.

Should be a fun game, we're hearing both ASU and UA are close to sellouts and probably will be packed.

The issue is the PAC 12 Network

I totally understand but that cannot be solved for this game. And even if ESPN had it, it would still likely be a 9p start which limits the audience for it.

All I know for certain is...GO ASU!!!!

That was Larry Scott's decision as well.

When building the television schedule before the season began, would you have put the ASU game in the 7p slot over UofA?

Of course not because any game UofA plays will almost certainly garner bigger ratings than an ASU game.

It is always about getting the eyes on the game in the current state of TV deals. UofA will outdraw ASU 95% of the time of not more...and this is one of those times.

Holy crap what a game. The key to the game was Verge getting in foul trouble, UCLA couldn't guard Remy or Edwards but with Verge sitting often it allowed us to stay in the game. Unreal first half for Kyman, and then the team took turns in the 2nd half stepping up until the game winner by Jaquez.

I know it gets brought up often but Hurley's sideline demeanor is a bit crazy, I won't be surprised if he gets fined, he apparently got into a near altercation with a fan at the half and also got into it with police. Right before the half they called a carry on Remy Martin, if you watched the game he was doing it the whole half and Cronin had been pointing it out to the refs(loudly) throughout the half. Hurley went nuts when they made the call he was a full 5 feet onto the court yelling at the ref it was a real surprise he didn't get a T. AS they left for the half apparently a UCLA fan started screaming at Hurley and making the carry motion with his hand, Hurley lost it and tried to go after the guy. They have those elastic barriers( like you see at airports) and per several fans who were at the game Hurley knocked the barrier over and was trying to get at the guy when he was pulled back by both police(security) and by ASU coaches and players. He was apparently escorted to the lockers by the police. People at the game said they were surprised he was on the bench to start the 2nd half they thought he would have been thrown out.

Cronin is of course very animated himself, I think the difference with Hurley, and admittedly I'm biased, is he argues everything, even good calls that go against him he's going bananas.

Just a great college game, now you guys need to go out and beat USC down.

Should add based on multiple first hand reports, UCLA fans are all saying the fan instigated the incident with Hurley and went too far, they were apparently pointing out the fan to security when he came back. I guess he actually went into the pavilion club to get away from Hurley, and Hurley tried to go after him when security stopped him and pulled him back.

So the fan caused it but if his reaction was as bad as reported, he still might get fined by the conference.

ASU had it in hand and lost it at the end. Poor decision to shoot a bad 3 with time (.10) left on the shot clock.

I am convinced that Hurley will fall over dead from a heart attack while coaching a game at some point.

Ugh... such a tough loss. The Devils really suffered by not being able to get White into any flow at all... so frustrating to see him totally taken out of the game and become a complete non-factor. And Verge being in foul trouble also killed ASU in this game.
This was a must-win in order to prevent the USC game from being a must-win. Now, if they lose to the Trojans tomorrow, their road to the NCAA tournament become extremely more challenging. Even if they win both games against Wash and Wash St, they will have to make some noise in the PAC 12 Tournament...

I agree but the conference time slots that he negotiated are limited on ESPN, FOX, etc and the PAC 12 Network sucks.

I think ASU is a lock even if they lost to USC and lost in the first round of the Pac 12 tourney. They have too good of a OOC schedule and record.

Non-UCLA fans should be scared of UCLA once Cronin gets his type of players in there. I could see a Howland type run in the future.

Well... we’re certainly gonna find out as the Devils go down again to USC.
In reality I’m not at all surprised to see them lose to both USC and UCLA. I have been more surprised by their recent streak of wins as this team is simply not that talented. Hurley has done an incredible job getting them to this point, where they have played far above their skill level.
Should they go 1 & 1 against the Washington schools to close out the regular season, I just can’t see them as a lock for the NCAA tournament. I really believe they need to sweep the Wash schools and win at least one game in the PAC 12 tourney to have a shot...

I feel like the Oregon win probably locked them into the tournament. Now they are playing for seeding. They could be anywhere from a play in game to a 10 seed.

I am no expert at this so I may be way off

Ouch, season should be over. On the plus side I won't have to listen to Pasch act like he's smarter than everyone, until next January at the earliest if ever.

Have to to say THAT was a big loss. I thought you guys were a lock, and UW is talented they should have a better record than they do, but for tournament purposes that was a huge loss.

I think it puts the bubble back in play.

That’s what I’ve been saying... as I knew all along that Hurley has this team at a level they just don’t belong. They just aren’t that good.
