Then promptly lose Bowman to Texas.

Definitely added some initial excitement with the Phelps association - my wife and I were able to watch him swim at the ASU pool even

Then continue to build out the program after the Phelps association fizzled a bit

Congrats to the Sun Devils for getting it done - I think they should at least remain moderately competitive

I wonder if the AD mess also played a part, as no one there to try to counter to keep him

I can't see the AD situation helping.

May be where they are on the secondary sports - can build to highly competitive, but if there is any prestige in the sport they'll be poached by bigger money

Softball is still trying to get back on its feet.

Also, want to give the currently most dominant sports program at ASU some recognition - while not necessarily a "team", the Women's Triathlon program is 7x current National Champions and have dominated pretty much since the NCAA created the division as an emerging sport - some incredible athletes there
