Before you celebrate, Franklin probably isn't injured, or at least badly injured. Berkstresser may have just earned the start. He's a big kid who can really throw the ball. Highly regarded out of high school. Can run a bit, too.

Not celebrating, but anytime you're playing an inexperienced QB, you've to think thats an advantage.
Plus if you're saying ASU has to either play a scrambling QB (Franklin) or a more big armed QB who can run just a little (say an Osweiler type) I think ASUs current defense fairs better against the latter guy.

Where are the rumors coming from? Not seeing anything on the interwebs.
Berk is said to be identical to Franklin and all the other, previous QBs under Pinkel (Gabbert, Daniels, etc.). I suspect the kid can run like a RB. Especially at 6-3/220.
Berkstresser is essentially a pocket passer in the shotgun spread offense. He is a deceptive athlete, but he is a passer first, runner as a complement. He has very good size and more bulk and stature than you will see from most QB's at this stage.
That sucks , I had that surgery last year and it is brutal. I had to have 3 anchors put in and I have never felt such pain in m life.Well looks like LB Carlos Mendoza will need shoulder surgery and is out for the year. That sucks. At least he can think about those 2 INT's during his time off.
Thats not what Ive been reading on the Mizzou boards. They're portraying him more like a strong armed QB who can run a bit if he needs to, but running isn't his main weapon.
Looks like we'll find out though!
Here's what ESPN says about him:
Thanks for the info guys. Your Google skills are far superior to mine!
the unbelievably thick Missouri myopia.
I'm all for safety, but being able to duck your head to get a helmet to helmet penalty is idiotic.
Agree. That play was not the reason the rule was devised. Also, my least favorite uniform's.
I believe the second fumble by Miles this season.
