Not sure if the ASU faithful will like this...

HOME OOC against Portland State and NAU.
AWAY OOC against Wisconsin.

http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/asu-m-footbl-sched.html

For your season ticket purchase, you get to see:

Portland State (horrid team, next to last in the Big Sky)
NAU - decent team, at least it has a lot of local players on it
Oregon
Washington State (could be worse than NAU)
Stanford
UCLA

EXCITEMENT!

yea, not great, but to put a positive spin on it, I'm sure attendance will be better assuming we are winning these games?

Bottom line: ASU didn't want to do a home-and-home with a non-BCS FBS team, so they went this route instead. Meanwhile, Cal's traveling to Nevada, Nebraska's going to Wyoming, Texas went to Wyoming, and the whole process of scheduling has been changed. ASU is stuck in mindset that's officially out-dated. Can't strong-arm FBS schools for a one-and-done anymore, unless you're willing to pay three times or more what had been the going rate, including any buyout charges that apply.

This might help clear things on the reason.

From that link...

Question: Fans may see apparent opportunities for games based on the schedules available to the public but that can be misleading or inaccurate. Can you explain that?

Answer: "Lots of factors there. One, we're very fortunate to have access to a scheduling system, a website set up by ESPN. It's a scheduling website that only institutions have access to through a password basis. That is not a perfect system, but it's the most up-to-date scheduling system in college football. All other schedules out there that one might find could be extremely outdated or simply have incorrect information.

“Schedules are changing so much, so quickly there is no one out there who can keep up with it. The reason ESPN has that site is because they are very active in scheduling TV games for ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc. So it behooves them to know what schools are doing so they can look at schedules, know who is playing whom and set up TV games and maybe even set up made-for-TV matchups. So whatever the fan out there might be looking at might be totally different from what is reality.

“Another aspect is just because school A might have a particular need on a particular year and school B might have the same need, scheduling is an agreement. So the first thing is you have to get somebody to agree to play you. If they agree now you have to match up dates. I've had several instances

eh, we can't really talk right now. our team was very boring last year minus the USC game and Washington game.

I can't wait til next year when the Devils schedule "Sante Fe Institute of Technology for the Deaf and Blind". Unless, of course, they are able to land a 1 and 1 with "The Flight College of Barney and Stuckey" located in Bisbee, AZ.

And look out for 2012 when we play "Alphagraphics Institute", assuming they are able to field a team by then.

:thud:... where have you gone Jake Plummer, the devilnation turns its lonely eyes to you. Wo, Wo, Wo.

Wow, that's awful... I'll still buy my season tickets since we get them at a good discount as students. Still, waiting three hours to watch a game vs. Portland State? Ugh...
