This was funny though

9:10 – With the sixth pick, the Chargers take Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert. And at seven, the Panthers select Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown. The Cardinals are up next. They entered the draft with just six overall picks and two in the first three rounds, so GM Steve Keim is looking to trade back. The Buccaneers, who sit at 14, are interested. Keim asks for Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Shaq Barrett and three future firsts. After his negotiations with Bill O’Brien during the DeAndre Hopkins/David Johnson trade, Keim has completely lost sense of what’s reasonable and is asking for crazy compensation like that annoying guy in your fantasy league. Bucs GM Jason Licht shoots him down but offers a third and a future second. Deal. Tampa moves up to No. 8 and selects Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills to shore up the offensive line in front of Tom Brady.

When the Cardinals trade down a second time Simmons, Thomas, Chiasson, and Kinlaw are all there.

The initial trade is awesome. The second trade is straight poop

If a team was loaded with talent it would be fun to keep trading down in the draft and stockpile picks in a future draft. I bet a team could get a boatload of picks this way.

Is not the goal of every draft, not about who you take or could have taken, but about who can acquire and stockpile the most pick? Belichick's Cardinal Rule of Drafting: "He with the most picks wins!"

but the Patriots don’t draft well. The saying is Belichick the coach saves Belichick the GM.

Thanks. First trade all day long. I might even throw in a pick on our end and try to grab Howard. To go back to 14 and still have Simmons there is crazy....Thomas too I think...but I would be ok taking Kinlaw or Chaisson at that point

I'm sorry, anyone who wouldn't take that first trade is insane. Simmons probably won't make it to #8....but to get him at 14 with 2 additional picks is the steal of the decade.

Go back a couple of months before combine hype and tell someone we could land Andrew Thomas at 14 and they would laugh at you.

Making that trade and landing one of those 2 is the equivalent of the Hopkins trade...almost too good to believe

I have no serious opinion on Jackson, but unless there is a great QB prospect or a no doubt elite prospect at another key position then trading down and collecting more draft capital is almost always correct. I would bet almost everyone here would hit on more picks if they get 5 chances distributed throughout the top 120 as opposed to just #8 overall.

I consider Chase Young as the only no doubt elite prospect in this draft.

I think Tua and Burrow are good enough to pick if you need a QB.
