What the heck is there to teach a RB at this level? If they made it this far, they know how to run and have their own style, don't they. What does he actually get paid to do? Stand on the sidelines and yell, "Run, Forest, Run!"

The same could be said for the QB, don't throw off your back foot, go through your progressions, throw it away if you are out of the pocket and are going to lose yards, don't stare down your receivers, etc.

I think it should be clear by now that Gannon is looking for certain qualities in a coach rather than just a resume that shows experience.
James Saxon was one of the most experienced RB coaches in the league. What did he do for us except beat his wife and get fired?
It's an unusual approach for sure, but also refreshing. We have had years of hiring fired retreats who's best days were clearly over. Did the Steelers fire James Saxon because they thought he was great? Practically every staff except BA's has comprised those types of guys.
This is one of the few staffs that has potential in it in Cards history. It does have potential to go wrong, and I'm sure one or two of these guys will get replaced in year 2. A new staff of 15 or so guys will never be 100% hits, but I'd rather this than some 56 year old lifer position coach who's just looking for a check until retirement.
All these guys will be hungry and motivated.

The criticism has absolutely nothing to do with being a minority, and you well know it. it is great for the cards to bring in minority coaches does not mean we need to reach to the HS administrator ranks to do so. He wasn't even failing upwards until we hired him.
The whole HS Administrator is a bit overstated- he had that job only for a couple months, and clearly a filler until another coaching job was available Prior 4 years had been a DI head coach Prior 8 as a DI college RB coach.

The DI resume doesn't play much either. He was an NFL RB seems to be his biggest accomplishment. Oh well. At least it's a low-impact position coach job, so whatever.

Great post Brit.
Most of us wanted a massive change in the FO and coaching. A complete change in the culture for lack of a better description. That is exactly what seems to be occurring. Whether that translates to success, or unfortunately fails remains to be seen.
