The Kobayashi of Kool-Aid
Offense and Defense ran similar number of plays against Seattle as they did against the Browns, 89 for the O and 61 for the D. Some items that I found interesting:
1. John Brown was on the field for 59 of 89 plays. I think this may have been his most invisible game of his young career.
2. With John Brown "healthy" again, Jaron was relegated back to the bench for all but 19% of offensive snaps.
3. For as active a day as Michael Floyd had, he was on the field for only 3 plays more than JB.
4. It was good to see Darren Fells back in the line-up for 56% of plays, however, Gresham got the call more often than any of the other TE's, lining up for 82% of offensive plays. Niklas only saw the field for 7%, one of his lowest totals of the season.
5. Obviously, Watford came in to spell Iupati; however, what I thought was interesting was Ted Larson being the active back-up for weeks 6-8, but not against Seattle. Not sure why they switched roles for this particular game.
6. For the DL, Gunter provided his lowest contribution in a game for the season, with his extra reps being picked up by Mauro. I'm not one to grade DL play, but I remember hearing Mauro's name get called a few time in the game. Will need to watch to see if this becomes a trend going forward.
7. Even though Okafor is healthy again, we limited his opportunities to only 66% of plays. Golden's play dropped off dramatically to only 16%, by far his smallest contribution of the season - though still more than Weatherspoon's one rep.
8. We've been consistent in keeping Freeny's snap counts right around 20-25 per game. Wasn't sure if Okafor's return would take plays away from Dwight. He did not.
9. Powers made it back on the field for all but two snaps after not playing in Cleveland, at the expense of playing time for Justin Bethel.
