Wanted to get this out yesterday but work life has been busy.

It's a bit early to spot any trends, but a few notes that struck me:

Offense - 75 plays
1. OLine: Of course everyone know that Humphries only played in 8 snaps, and was spelled by J.Wetzel. What I don't recall seeing was Iupati coming out for 5 plays, filled in by Alex Boone.

2. RB: David Johnson managed to participate in 61% of our total plays, which kind of surprised me, mainly because any time he is out, it seems like a lifetime. Most interesting is that though we're told Kerwynn is next man up, he was only in on 9 plays. Ellington seems to have picked up the slack with 20 snaps. It will be interesting to see what their split is over the next few weeks, especially with the addition of CJ2k this week.

3. TE: Gresham saw the field on 73% of offensive plays. Troy managed to see action on 25% of plays, but I have to admit, I don't recall seeing him on the field a single time.

4. WR: Larry continues to be a bell cow, only missing a single play. The Browns were on the field for 84% and 73% respectively (Jaron also was in on several ST plays), with JJ getting 30 plays on offense for the day. Golden was active, but relegated to ST duty only.

Defense - 71 plays
1. DB: Continuing trend from last season, our starting DB's rarely leave the field. PP, HB, and Branch all played in every D snap. Bethel only missed two. Bethea managed to see the field for 85% of plays. While they got some game time in on ST, Budda was only on the D side of the ball for 2 plays. No action for Brandon Williams.

2. DL: Much more rotation on the DL, with Peters and Rucker seeing the most action at only 43 and 44 plays each. Gunter only 24% of action... seems troubling. I kind of expected to see him more active. Looking forward to Nkemdiche finally being unleashed in Indy.

3. LB: Jones was in on every play. Not sure if we need to rotate him a bit more to keep him fresh as his production was a little disappointing, wheras Marcus Golden came out for 17 plays (some of that was obviously due to eye injury). Los only missed three plays, and Hassan Reddick saw a surprising 58% of action. Newcoming Bynes was in on 42% of of snaps.

I saw Niklas, he was targeted a few times but so closely covered that he didnt catch the ball.

100% of snaps for c handler is excessive.

Word is Budda is still having issues absorbing the playbook. I assume his playtime will be much higher by mid year.

Wont be surprised if Reddicks snaps keep going up too while Deone is still out.
