I remember a couple of years ago Billy Jr threw a bitch fit about loosing some of his authority with the Cardinals so he stopped shaving and grew a beard.

I can't even come up with the words to describe how pathetic this specific story is so I won't.

What amazes me is the Mike Bidwill apologists who claim he's the one to turn this garbage around when he's been right there with his ******* Dad in making theses poor decisions over the last decade. Hell, we might as well give Bill Jr. a chance if Green, McGinnis, and Graves are Michael's claims to fame.

Posts: 2,831 This got me to thinking about something....which no one will ever know and is a worthless exercise..but I will do it anyway....what is the protocol for the Cardinals? Who talks to who? Does Michael communicate with Denny...or Rod? I guess both...Does Michael talk to Denny on a daily basis..or is it a hands off operation? Where do mr. B and B Jr (the one listed on the website at azcardinals.com as being a Vice President...and his bio/history page is completely blank) come in? Maybe B jr. is kicking Denny's ass telling him to get some damn wins... Something tells me that this team should start with something simple like an organization chart. If I was a new coach in for an interview..that would be one of my 1st requests... I would want to know who makes what decisions and what exactly EVERYONES responsibility is.

I think they need to start with a blank piece of paper and start over...not with the players necessarily..but from the CEO down to the coaches. I think confusion reigns. I am not advocating a change of ownership as that is kind of a joke (i.e. never happen).. I actually think B Sr. is a decent guy...just kind of shy and misunderstood (and bad at running a football team)..unfortunately..he also calls the shots.

Maybe I am wrong...maybe they are excellent communicators and have a great management system in place...but the poor results on the field over and over again tell me this is not the case.

Anyone remember a few years ago when Junior Seau was cut..or something...someone asked either Mr. B or Graves..cannot remember which one...are you interested in Junior? They replied...we put Bill Jr. on the case... I was not sure if this was Mr. B being funny (I think he said it)...he does have a sense of humor...he may have been joking.....I think he may have been..maybe he was not. I am so confused. I thought Rod Graves was in charge of this stuff? maybe Jr. knew Junior personally? whatever...If they have an org chart...they should throw it away and start over.

ugh - why don't they just do the most rational thing in the world and HIRE A REAL GM!?

Oh yeah - because they're the Bidwills and they can't even spell the word rational, much less act like it.

Can't spell rational? Heck, I wonder if they can spell GM!

As I recall Bill Jr made his push to assedency in the late 90s. There was some press about him, mostly negative.
I believe his fall from grace came after the 98 season when he pushed the Plummer contract through leaving no room to resign Centers and others.
As I recall in recent years he has refused to travel with the team or even attend many of the home games.
That said lets hope this doesnt turn into a replay of the family squabbles in the 70s when Bill Sr and his brother Stormy feuded over the team after their mothers passing.

That is exactly right daytripper. Then, Bob Ferguson took over, and this is the first peep we've heard about Bill Jr. since then.

If true, this is maybe more of a bummer than the eight straight games we lost. Seriously, this would suck.

Bill Jr. should just ****

they ALL should - a dysfunctional family runs a family run football team - do we really wonder why they are so freaking horrific?

honestly, how Bill Bidwill can't just look at the mess the tema has been for, well, EVER, and not say: "Hey, you know what? Maybe me and my kids don't know what the hell we're doing. Maybe we should hire a GM." is beyond words to the point of not only ridiculous stupidity, but the highest form of narcisism possible.

if this report ends up being true, I will literally HATE the Bidwills. Now, I just laugh at them for being completely inept, but a move this stupid leads me to wish every bad thing that comes their way.

What's the history on this Stormy Bidwill character? In true Cardinals fashion, I'm guessing he is very successful at whatever it is he is doing.

The Cards are probably going to outsource the GM to Bangalore to cut costs.

I'd rather see Nicole Bidwill take over than Bill Jr. At least there's a chance she'd realize she's too ignorant to run the team and might hire someone who can.

From what I understand the story of brothers Stormy and Bill Sr has all of the drama of a soap opera.
The following is all unsubstanciated and hear say Ive gathered over the years.
When their dad Charles died his wife took over the team. It was she who moved them from Chi to StL
Things got ugly after their moms passing in the 70s and the ownership issue ended up in court. Rumor has it it was during these proceedings when Bill Sr first found out he was adopted.
Stormy ended up with the family race track and Bill Sr. with the Cardinals.
Hopefully history doesnt repeat itself with Jr and Micheal

article is interesting....after reading it...based on one of the quotes quote below...maybe we got the wrong brother.

http://www.bdcnetwork.com/articleXml/LN519181771.html

The heat forced the Cardinals to include an indoor tailgating area to supplement the 8-acre "Great Lawn" outside on the 160-acre space named "Sportsman's Park" by the Bidwills.

According to Michael Bidwill, this was an intentional reminder not only of the Bidwill family's former interest in Sportsman's Park racetrack in Cicero but also of the former name of Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Because Sportsman's Park racetrack is defunct, it may not serve as such a friendly reminder to Bill Bidwill's brother Stormy, who sold his interest in the Cardinals in 1972 and stayed in horse racing in Chicago.

Stormy Bidwill said he had yet to visit the new stadium, had never been to a game in Arizona and had "no idea" why the area was named Sportsman's Park, though he said he stays in touch with his brother and will root for the Cardinals on Monday night even though he's also a Bears fan.

"My brother and I didn't agree," Stormy Bidwill said. "We both had different management styles."

I've always despised the Bidwills, not the Cardinals. Though I don't like the Bidwills, I don't wish any illwill towards them. That said though, my guess would be that when Bill Sr. passes away some day, that none of his children would be able to afford to pay off the other brothers/sisters share of Bill's estate to buy the team because NFL teams are worth so much more now than they use to be. This hatred between brothers might force the Bidwills to give up the franchise after Bill Sr. passes away, because I wouldn't think any of the children could afford to pay off the others' shares of Bill Sr.'s estate. In the end this brotherly rivalry might finally get the Cardinals out of the Bidwills' hands someday. I could be wrong though because I'm not a legal expert. Just going on my experiences with other family members when they had to buy out someone's share of a house or property if they wanted it when the person who owned it died. If no one could afford it, it seemed like the estate was just sold and split evenly among the surviving family members.

People can say what they want about the old man but my guess is that hes a pretty shrewd character. I would guess that he has been transfering ownership through trusts and other means to his children for years if not decades. After the debacle with Stormy you can bet he has protected his interests and more importantly for him his legacy.

This is probably old news to most- MJ said this morning that Bill Jr. and Michael hate each other and don't speak at all. He also said that during the Holidays, the Bill Sr. gives them each a time to come over to the house because they refuse to be around each other. Pretty healthy relationship, I can just see how these morons act when making personnel decisions. "No, I want Edge. It wasn't your idea, it was mine. I get the credit. Dad likes me more anyways...." Babies

Ahhh, nothing like rich families... as much as I would love to get a ton of cash at some point, it's nice to be middle class, not worrying about the back-stabbing BS rich families deal with.

I'll be enjoying Thanksgiving tomorrow with all my kids and let me say, I'm thankful for that.
