Obviously I am struggling with BA as the head coach of my all-time favorite sports franchise. I have grown increasingly uncomfortable with him, basically because I can't trust a word he says. I also take great exception to the fact that he points the blame at anyone but himself or his "brilliant" coaches whom he has exalted as sure-fire future head coaches from his self-proclaimed coaching tree. This is one of my most nagging fears because I do not want to see any of the current coaches succeed BA in Arizona. I do not think any of them are uniquely qualified, save for Tom Pratt and Tom Moore, neither of whom wants to be a head coach at his venerable age.

I have never seen a coach spend so much time promoting himself, his brand, his swagger, his philosophy. I have also never seen a coach offer such public criticism of players, NFL schedulers and referees. I find all of this ego-stroking and public denigration of others tremendously distracting, regrettable and annoying, to the point where I do not even want to read his book.

I have never seen such a team that is predicated on talk, talk, talk. When I watch Pat P. on All or Nothing talk to the team about "toughness" I feel disgusted and it looks as if his teammates are feeling dubious as well. The only player who commands the room, imo, is Tyrann Mathieu, who speaks straight from the heart and backs it up. I really like it that this off-season Honey Badger is quietly saying little in favor of preparing like a madman for the season. But the sting of the truth still sticks painfully in my craw when Bill Belichick last year said that the Cardinals "say they are" Super Bowl contenders. This was SO true.

Most coaches are as dull as can be, the media gets all this out of him because he's one of the only guys that has a personality.

Bruce is a guy I would hang out with, I can't say that about a majority of other coaches

I seem to remember Buddy Ryan here, swaggering all over the podium. If only his mouth could have played QB.

I think we overrate the value of HCs.

Positional coaches and coordinators are more important to the teams success. And the GM probably most important of all. If he stocks the team with good talent, its hard to have a bad team no matter whos the HC.

I am not a fan of the Patriots and never will be. The Cardinals are my team and always will be my team.

That said, do you think Bill Belichick would ever write a book where in he claims to be the Tom Brady whisperer?

This is a great point, as Buddy proclaimed "you've got a winner in town" and then never won jack. Just as Denny Green promised a Top 5 offense. It's this kind of history that makes pompous HC talk all the more difficult to digest.

The answer to your question is no, given that his expertise is on the defensive side of the ball.

I think you might be surprised at how much fun other coaches are behind the scenes. Sure, BA would be fun to have a drink with. I agree with you there.

Do you realize HOW MUCH HIS TALK HAS MADE A PREVIOUS JOKE OF A FRANCHISE RESPECTED AROUND THE LEAGUE?

We get FAs... we get three straight double digit winning seasons. We get PRESS. TEAMS NEED PRESS, especially teams like the Cardinals who weren't even a joke before... they didn't matter PERIOD in the league.

Good lord... not everyone can get Bill Belichik. He's a one of a kind.

Everything you're right is just beyond bitching at this point because you need to be right... always, even when your takes are ludicrous.

Yes... last year sucked. we all agree there, but... ah forget it. If you really don't see the upside to what BA has brought to this franchise, you're blind.

Every time I step out on a limb you are right here to give me scathing lecture.

You might be surprised at this...but I don't have to be right at all...I am just trying to be true to my own observations and feelings. That's what this board is for. If I am feeling something i am gong to say it. I have even gotten to the point where I can handle the bashing. I have come to expect it, thus i post my honest feelings anyway.

Sometimes each of us gets something right...but, when I do, do you ever see me come back and throw it in people's faces?

Being right is not my ultimate goal here. You may not know this, but I learn a lot from the posters here. Many have helped me temper my frustrations and/or my kool aid tendencies. I am happy to see so many of you staying true to BA. That gives me hope. If you are right and i am wrong, we all win.

I get the gist of what you are saying Mitch though I think you may be going a little bit too far to the extreme with some of your criticism.

That said, I'm also at the point where BA's "cool uncle swag" has pretty much begun to ring hollow with me. I just don't care about that crap anymore. I don't care to listen to his bluster and snappy one liners to the media anymore.

Dude needs to translate all that "swag" into more than one playoff win in 4 seasons.

He needs to put that "cool uncle" persona to use geting the most out of the talent of these players on the football field, especially in big games, instead of them wanting to go have cocktails with him.

Being likable doesn't equate to being successful. John Wooden said never mistake activity for achievement. I'm ready to see some playoff Ws.

Belichick runs the Patriots' offense. He gives all the credit to his offensive coaches, but his stamp is all over all 3 phases of the game. He's been a HC for 23 years. If you think he's been strictly focused on defense all, these years, you don't really know the coach.

That said, Belichick is never going to write a self-promotion book. It rubs against everything he stands for. He will never ever take the bulk of credit for the 5 Super Bowl wins. He will always credit Bob Kraft, his coaches and the players.

Agreed...Bill whatshisnuts with Houston is a complete douche canoe.

Mike Smith...blah...

50/50....yeah, wish we had a coach that talked so much about winning, like that guy, but can't back it up.

Give me BA every day, and twice on Sundays.

He's having the time of his life and is taking us all along for the ride!
