50 passes 21 rushes

Manhandling Arizona is easy if you defend the deep ball- Cards have players to earn the win the right way- - but not the play caller! Bills never left the pass defense scheme, why would they ????? They know exactly what we plan to do - brilliant bills against stupid Cardinals! Every loss follows this same ole Cardinal game plan by Whiz and BA!

We were down multiple scores most of the game, so not surprising we passed a lot more than we ran. Definitely need to be much better balanced, but hard when you are behind the eight ball from the very beginning

It would be nice to mix up personnel. I like David Johnson but anointing him as a back to play every down seems foolish. I think Chris Johnson saw 3 snaps and Ellington zero. At this rate we need CJ just to keep Palmer alive. Mathis signing was a massive waste of money BTW

The Cardinals were not down three scores in the first quarter and neglected to use David Johnson then but instead went for the long passing game. This was noticed by the play by play announcers as well as the half commentators. And BA's love of the long ball gets him in trouble.

If a couple of those long passes hit we are all praising Arians and the offense.

That being said, on the road in a very tough environment we needed to play it a little closer to the vest and set the tone.

Sad to think we were a couple of plays from perhaps winning this game. Take the botched snap away with a successful kick and you have a 10 point swing. Add that to HB's desperate attempt to make a big play instead of falling on it.

We deserve to lose and I'm shocked it wasn't worse.

I am proud of the fact tha we didn't roll over and die.

those dogs won't hunt after 150 games of the same cardship - I get it we live and die by the long ball - and most people are butt wiggle happy when we win that way - again there is something called the play by play button - that allows a fan to explore trends and reason beyond media highlights- don't be lazy - click that sucker and see that most our wins over the last 10 years were accomplished by an effort- sometimes ineffective effort to run the g-damned ball- in fact an ungodly percentage of football games wins in the history of earth was accomplished this same g-damn way.

then click on the 10 rush Card SB loss, the 10 rush 2009 bounty Saints playoff blow out that killed kurt's career. and practically every loss us Cards fans have suffered -Carson will get injured again- followed by Drew again - followed by pass like our hair is on fire and the death of a Cardinal Ballet - and coach that won't watch the loss that I recorded!

folks it aint that I don't like BA or Whiz for that matter - it is that I don't like the stupid plays called and stupid losses with a superior team. I don't like passing 2-1 over rushing and having talent like CJ and AE rusting on the bench! I don't like starting the game with 3 and out- 5 times in a row because we didn't get the defense out of all out 2 minute drill pass defense the entire game! where sports center and NFL network sees 26 completions out of 51 pass attempts - I see 25 passes for no yards, penalties and 4 interceptions! a 3rd down incompletion = a turnover!

When we did run the ball we were successful and got back in the game with long drives- got short fields many times and passed ourselves to death!

the truth is pro football games are determined by no gain and negative plays, more so than great execution -olines dominance- PP's greatest interception, JB's safety punt return, great field positions were like a fart in a mitten - warm windy and fleeting. will be every time our play caller remains impatient and greedy- NFL defense have not stood for one dimensional offenses - we can not out perform even bad NFL defenses with imbalanced play calling! look at the play by play or the tape- Cardinal up and take it like a fan!

In an earlier post I called attention to Carson Palmer - under frequent pressure - throwing off his back foot and "pushing" rather than drilling the ball to his receivers. His accuracy in spite of this tends to mask this consistent lack of velocity.

I'm wondering whether BA stays away from too many short ppasses because it risks hanging receivers out to dry/even more interceptions.

This may be the reason for the longer passes (which require more touch/& less velocity to be effective).

THESMEL---until BA adds a FB to lead block for the Johnsons---too many opponents will run blitz BA's run calls and make things very difficult for the offense to sustain drives by running the ball more consistently. A FB's job is to take away the first threat, so the RB doesn't have to re-direct right off the snap. Plus, if the Cardinals are ver going to beat Carolina they have to run iso-blocks on Keuchly and Davis.

Man, I would love to see the offense insert a FB, roll up its sleeve and pound the ball. But the way BA's offense is designed, you won't see 3 or more runs in row very often. It is what it is.

We have been beaten by two Defensive-minded coaches... One Hall of Fame coach who beat us with a QB making his first NFL start, and no Gronk and no starting LT.
The other - Rex Ryan, pounded the crap out of us and more importantly, played most of the game with 7 DB's and yet BA still couldn't adjust.

Also consider: we lost to Garoppolo and Taylor at QB. What happens when we play a good/great QB with elite receivers?

We play up to the level of the competition? Look at our history. Backup and mediocre QB's have killed us.

I think BA's system is far too complex. If it works, it's the greatest show on turf. If not, Palmer throws several interceptions without any receivers in the vicinity. The Vikes got Bradford ready to play in less than 3 weeks. Norv Turner's offense is complex too, yet he made it work. Bills fired Roman and their new OC scrapped half of their playbook beating us with simple power and read option plays. Belichick installed a brand-new offense from scratch in less than 4 (!) days for a rookie 3rd string QB to rout a very good Texans defense. When watching other NFL games or even our opponents, there are so many trivial concepts and plays that you can see in most high school games, yet it still works like a charm. I'm not too worried about our offense suddenly nosediving, at some point it will click again and we'll be just fine on offense. But after Palmer retires there won't a rookie QB that can grasp BA's complex offense. Luck and Roethlisberger don't come around often. It's obvious that Stanton isn't the answer. Will BA call more run plays and more high percentage quick hitters to take the pressure of a young QB? From what I've seen thus far, I doubt it.

I agree with using all of our backs. Said the same thing watching the game. They needed to use CJ & AE more in the backfield. If nothing more than to give D.Johnson a rest. Completely disagree about Mathis.

Mitch-Well I don't see a FB - I liked Sherman- but gone gone gone- What I did see was CJ breaking down defenses in this system last year- making play action effective to a 13 win season- our WR are not open- every pass is contested- it is arrogant of BA to think we can out perform nfl defenses in the pass game - last week it was one completion making up for 2 incompletions. DJ can break down a defense - but cJ and AE have elite skill sets rusting on the bench - cJ is quicker to the hole and hits with more impact- AE is flat out fast and quick - we have to earn WR getting open in play action - with the run game! We can skin cats many ways, but BA won't call it- he's greedy.

needs to learn how field dress a house cat! haha
