Unfortunately I think it might be health related. BA is old, has had numerous health issues, and is close to giving himself a heart attack on the side lines every week. With the SB win, he has now accomplished everything he can in football. I hope he retires and lives a great rest of his life with his family. I love BA, he made the Cards legit. Some people will claim Whisenpunt did...but that was a magical career resurrection by Kurt Warner and the coaching of Todd Haley.

BA made the Cards a legit NFL team, and despite his flaws, his worst seasons were more competitive that most of our coaches best seasons. He is the best coach in Cards history...which is sad because he was only here a few years and was run out of town essentially.

It's pretty obvious what's happening here. We are never going to know the truth, but we all know the truth. Tom retires and then un-retires. Soon after, BA "retires." It's almost as if BA was asked to come into the front office. Career team Sargent's usually don't just decide to take a staff job at the Pentagon. If he didn't cite health reasons when he left here, I may buy the possibility that this is likely due to "health" again. However, if he is having health problems, just get out of the league and go fish in GA.

BA is probably rubbing off the wrong way/wearing out his welcome. I've worked the majority of my life with bosses who yelled, cussed at me, and called it like they saw it. (Doesn't mean they were right). I let it roll like water off a ducks ace. As a Gen X, I have actually grown to become quite fond of that type of character. But today's generation doesn't know how to handle it. BA was asked to step aside, and he reluctantly agreed as long as Bowles was put in charge. Convince me otherwise.

That’s why I put it in quotes. I’m unsure it exists on the football field. Athletes have lead coddled existences since we were kids. Some excel with tough love and some wither.

Hmm I don’t think it’s silly. I think each generation has legitimate gripes about the next (even my parents gen complaining about mine). But it is what it is.
