whew! that one took longer than usual. on sunday, i had such a deep feeling of apathy about this team that i was no longer even mad at them. they looked like a high school team, and didn't appear to even care that they got spanked so bad. i vowed the season was over. i hated them after the rams game, but didn't even care after the falcons game. monday, tuesday, and wednesday came and went.

now it's thursday, and i remember again that i love the cardinals! we're the best team in the freaking league and i just bet two of my classmates $20 we'd embarrass the bears on monday night football. i think we'll beat the chiefs, stun the bears, and be 3-3 heading into week 7. leinart's at the helm, and this team will gel on sunday. i just feel it. the team has been absolutely DYING for a leader (sorry edge), and a qb they can have confidence in. i bet this week at practice has been great. i simply refuse to believe that we, with this amazing talent, are going to do anything less than win the next 2 games.

remember my friends, how good the following players are:
1) anquan boldin: are you kidding me? he is a freak!
2) larry fitzgerald: corners fear him! let's take advantage!
3) adrian wilson: how much would other nfl teams pay for him now?
4) antrel rolle: have you seen this guy tackle?
5) and yes, edgerrin james: just give him a hole -- just give him a hole!
6) bertrand berry: you can't fake 15 sacks
7) karlos dansby: waiting to explode this sunday
8) and matt leinart: i daydream thinking what he's capable of!

i am SO back! you make think i'm hallucinating - but i'll gladly take a piss test for anyone right now!

mark it down: AZ 24, KC 17; AZ 30, CHI 21

also: i saw a cardinal on the way to class today. it looked MEAN!

let's get back on board!

Sorry to spoil your enthusiasm but you are going to lose your money.

#4 Rolle has done nothing so far and must improve.
#6 Berry has been non existent. 14 1/2 sacks was two years ago which is a long time in football years. He just isnt right.
#7 What makes you think that Dansby is ready to explode?
#8 Leinart is still a rookie and will likely play like one aginst that KC and Bear Defenses.

There are squirrels, cardinals and robins in my neighborhood. The robins look meaner, and the squirrels are twice as big.

30 points vs. the Bears? Not likely.

Yes, but Cardinals are wiry.

Cardinals also eat squirrels and robins.

Wow. Is ASFN and the Cardinals some kind of CIA clandestine experiment in mental health?

Seriously, we all need to check into some kind of rehab clinic and seek professional help.

True. I was just being negative, because I took it as a good omen when the redbird was on the tree outside my house.

I have also seen the redbirds scare away pigeons and sparrows.

Dis Rolle for his coverage technique if you like, but if you think the guy can't tackle take the beer goggles off!!!

Here is where somebody will bring up the "He should be a FS" arguement. I'd like a guy that doesn't have to tackle because nobody can get his man the ball!!

This is basically his rookie year. He will get better.

perhaps you are correct about the robins and squirrels - but you are forgetting scientific evidence, oh follower of the wrong team who goes on other team's message boards when you are undefeated...

it soon will be winter. while the bear - lazy, fat, and scared of the cold weather - retreats to his or her cave for a 4 month nap of hibernation, the cardinal remains one of the very few types of foul who simply refuse to migrate south to warmer climates.

staring the elements in the face, the cardinal fights adversity by hunkering down and finding food, not only surviving dark times, but thriving in them! just like winter, being 1-3 can be hard to take - but cardinals (and thus by association, their dedicated fans), do not cut and run like robins, or hibernate like squirrels and bears.

the cardinals are also much like revolutionary war hero, john paul jones:
from: http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill/lobby/3020/jones.html

"Jones was then promoted to commodore and placed in command of a mixed fleet of American and French ships. Setting sail at the head of this small squadron on Aug. 14, 1779, he captured 17 merchantmen off the British coast and, on September 23, fell in with a convoy of British merchant vessels escorted by H.M.S. Serapis and Countess of Scarborough. Challenging Serapis, Jones deftly maneuvered Bonhomme Richard alongside the larger British vessel and lashed the two ships together. With the muzzles of their guns touching, the two warships fired into each other's insides. Although his smaller vessel was on fire and sinking, Jones rejected the British demand for surrender; "I have not yet begun to fight," he replied. More than three hours after the bloody battle began, Serapis surrendered, and Jones took command of it."

24-17 over the Chiefs; 30-21 over the Bears

Boo...come on. You know he gave up a first down last week....cuz as the WR was fighting for yardage......Rolle was trying to line up one of his oh so cool WWE bodyslams.

I don't know what it is about this team and thinking they have to be on "JACKED UP" with every play. Just bring the man down.....while you are at it....try to strip the ball.

No....here's where I'll bring up my "AT BEST HE'S A NICKEL CB" arguement. Maybe it's not his fault though....our corners play so damn far off sometimes. If I had Rolle....he'd be Jamming on every play.

If this team has any pride what so ever they had better show up and play well on Sunday. This is it, this game is the season period we win we still have a decent shot at a good season we lose and its OVER! If our team has and HEART they had better show it on Sunday. I will be there to cheer them on, hopefully they keep me cheering through out the game! Go Cards!

I just have one question: what exactly are "gentalmen"?

I'm pretty sure I've heard of "gentlemen" before, but this must be a new term. Perhaps Webster's updated its spelling of certain words. You can never be too sure of these things.

So sorry. I do that alot. Ya see missing two fingers on one hand does cause me to make many typos. Try typing without your left middle finger and left ring finger sometime. Believe me it aint easy.

denverbirdfan - I just noticed that your location is Marion IL. I have in-laws that live there. It's a neat little town.
