I hope Rod Graves does everything he can to sign Chad Pennington after FA starts.
Can we all just nip this Pennington talk in the bud now please? The guy has had not one, not two, BUT THREE operations on his often injured THROWING SHOULDER! I just don't get some people, they slam Leinart for not having arm strength and his supposed inability to stretch the field with his "weak" arm, but in the same breath they are clamoring for a guy who has never been known for his arm strength and has had three operations on his throwing shoulder.:bang:

I am not saying you specifically said that WHOF, but I have seen Cardinal fans whine about Leinart and then want Pennington here.

How about Chris Redmond? He didn't look all that bad filling in for Matt Ryan and would make a pretty servicable back up. He's 33 so he's a little older, but he's been in the league a while.

Pennington's accuracy and football IQ makes up for his lack of arm strength. Warner's arm isn't any stronger imo. Keep in mind this is a thread about finding a backup for Leinart not another Kurt Warner. ;)

A guy who could easily be released and i could see the Cards giving a long look is Matt Hasselback. Petey may want to start fresh and cut him loose. He's older and injured but he'd be very good comp for ML. The Cards would be a good situation for him unless Holmgren brings him to Cleveland.

If that's the case Phoenix better prepare for flash flooding every gameday the way that guy cries.:D

No thank you to Batch. Not unless you want Dave Brown back.

OMG Dave Brown? Quarterbacked the Cards to one of, if not the, ugliest win in Arizona history. 13-9 vs Dallas in 1999. Brown was 13-29-115 with 2 INT's and Jason Garrett was 16-29-111.

Ugly game and ugly win but it still was an absolute blast walking out of the stadium that evening.

How about JP Losman? I am talking strictly as a back up not as a starter. He's almost 29 would probably come cheap and isn't completely rusty as he played in the UFL. If he passes the attitude check with the coaching staff he is worth a look.

I heard reported on TV this morning that there were rumors about Trent Edwards and McNabb bouncing all over the net... Just FYI... I think I would like to see Bulger come in here...he has had nothing to work with and been left to slaughter with the Rams too often... maybe a fresh start and some REAL RB's and WR's he could be very productive in this offense... JMHO

It doesn't get more real than the RB they've had in St. Louis the past few years.

Marc Bulger is a system quarterback and is toast.
