Did anyone watch this while it was on HBO? It is produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg. I never watched the show when it was on HBO but I bought the DVD's at Costco.

It is so damn awesome, I love it!! Supposedly they spent extra money and time going for extreme realism and you follow the story of these men in E Company from D-Day to the Battle of the Bulge to VE Day. Awesome, awesome show

Yeah its a real tear jerker in some scenes, especially after Pat Tillman. The documentary at the end is great too. Every character in the show is a real person....good stuff

Watched it after I borrowed the DVD's from a friend a year ago. Since then I've seen it 3 times (I bought my own set of them after I watched his). By far the most realistic war "movie" that I've ever seen - truely amazing. I get chills anytime I pop it on. There are not enough adjectives to describe how remarkable a piece of work this is.

I gave that movie to my future father in law last Christmas and he loved it. But I haven't seen the movie yet.

I think there was like 12 episodes.

I thought the series was great. Man - when they were in the wooded area in Belgium & the bombs were blowing apart trees, etc..that sent chills through me!

They have begun to replay the series on the History Channel. Mondays at 9pm (I think).

So is it a true story or do you mean they are real because of good acting?

I watched it when it first came out on HBO. Best mini series I've ever seen. I bought the DVD set for my dad and he watches it over and over.

This is a must own DVD set!

I was working with a Captain down at Ft Huachuca last year. He told me his wife bought him the Band of Brothers tour for his birthday. Basically he went on a tour of Europe with a couple of guys from Easy Company(some of the ones you see at the begining of each DVD). They basically followed the path that Easy Company did during the war.

I think he said the whole tour cost about $6,000 but it was so worth it. He said it was real emotional but a once in a life time vacation.

My brother gave me the book to read before it ever came out on HBO and then I watched every episode.

My just got me the DVD set for Valetines day I think. Or maybe she got it for no reason.

It is great!

I recommend the book it adds some extra insight into the story.

Winters was a bad ass, but Lt. Nixon is my favorite character.

I've owned the book for awhile now, but have yet to read it - I might have to crack it open in the near future.

You can find it at Walmart and Target. It comes in a nice metal case. Costs like $80 or so I think.

Yeah, you can read it in like two days. It is hard to put down.

Someone around here told me they had the DVD version at our public library. I'll have to finally go get a library card and check it out. Unfortunately I don't have $80 to buy my own copy.
