also, i think the #1 pg prospect in high school is now that shawn livingston kid. 6'6" pass-first pg. there is thought that he may declare. intriguiging.

Shawn Livingston is like 6'6-6'7 150lbs. I am not sure what the advantage of a tall PG really is.

It almost forces you to play an undersized shooting guard because if you don't it is unlikely you can stop usual PGs from getting into the paint and making plays.

I don't know what's better. Having your PG post up on the other end is only an advantage when you have 2 tall guards.

Telfair would make quite a story. Stephon Marbury's cousin comes to the Valley to replace him.
The knock on him is that he holds the ball a little too much sometimes.

But in my opinion it won't be a problem in the NBA. Marbury when he came to Phoenix came as the best player of the team and established himself as one of the best scorers. There was no way to get the ball out of his hands.
Telfair would be a young player who is still learning the game, he can be develloped into a great player.

Though he is likely to go to college, it might force him to hold the ball more again if he is the best player on his team.

I would definately give Telfair consideration with the New York pick. He has a big name, youth and talent.

I agree with you that often times having a tall point guard is a disadvantage on defense. On offense we all saw one of the advantages of having a tall point guard when Penny Hardaway played the 1. He was better and making passes into the post and passing over the double teams.

I doubt the Phoenix Suns take anybody that is such a project though.

I haven't even seen Telfair, but I do believe what others are saying. He is overrated. There's got to be a reason most of the Scouts think he's not even a first-round draft pick this year.
