A poor man's Vince Young. They have some erie similarities. Kid didn't have much help takin the Bobcats to almost a title and has spent his whole life scramblin for his life on offenses with sub-par OL. The guy is 6'5, 230- sounds a lot like Young doesn't it. I'm not saying the guy is of Young's caliber but he is worth a look.

A few years ago I would agree with you, but I'm kinda tired of the Cards spending mid round draft picks on QB's from Nowhere State (Griesen, McCown), and expecting the fans to buy into the fact that they "could be" the QB of the future. From now on, if they are going to use a 1st day draft pick on a QB, he better be from a big time school, coached by a big time coach and running a big time offense. That's what we need in my opinion.

Well, since I'm not enamored with the Vince Young style QB, or Vince Young himself, I don't think I'll get too excited about a poor man's VY from a school I've never heard of.

At this point, Nealy is better than VY as far as passing skills. Nealy is actually a giant size Jake Plummer. Good ability to pass on the run.

also

They are both from the Houston area, at least Nealy started off at the University of Houston. Vince Young's only bad game came against rival Texas A&M at A&M and Texas State actually played at A&M also and Nealy accounted like for over 400yards (if I remember corectly) of offense and by his efforts alone almost beat the Aggies. Texas A&M had a down year but Nealy made the Aggies McNeal look like crap in comparison. First round pick-hell no...5th round pick...hell yes.

Great Blue North's top 100 has this rating for him......

56. Barrick Nealy, QB, 6-5, 235, Texas State

Guess at that rate he's about a mid to low second rounder....
