WOW, his body frame is very similar to his dad. Once he balks up a bit, they may be clones of each other. The running style looks very close as well. Could be the second coming of his dad.

I hope so because Sander was SO fun to watch. But i remember hearing (it was before the Internet was ubiquitous) how Jarrett Payton was lighting it up in HS, too. Then he wnt to Miami and was pretty average and spent a couple of years in the pros warming a bench (for Tennessee, I think?). I think the only reason he got a contract was based on name.

I think the becoming a good pro has less to do with physical ability (it'll get you in the door, but there are a lot of physical freaks that wash out) then mental fortitude and want-to.

I'm not saying this kid can't do it, I'm just saying it's WAY too early to tell. I hope in 5 or 6 years he's going #1 in everyone's fantasy drafts, though.

If he becomes an unquestioned #1 prospect coming out of college, do you think Detroit fans would consider tanking for him? :p

Relatively certain if Detroit tried to draft him there would be another Eli Manning situation.

He doesn't look as shifty as his pop but he does look faster. Overall he looks like a very good prospect.

His father was my all-time favorite RB to watch so if he's anything close to him I will be happy for he and I.

Whats amazing is that first clip is from his Freshman year in High school. I have been following him ever since I saw that on youtube back then. Different back then his dad but looks to be a great one.

Barry Sanders retired in his prime because he was tired of being on a losing team and the Lions would not trade or release him. As a father, I would not want my son to play for a team that treated me like that...the kid likely does not want to play for them either.

The way the Lions treated him? What the heck are you talking about

"Two years beforehand, Sanders had renewed his contract with the Lions for $35.4 million over six years with an $11 million signing bonus. When he retired with several years left on his contract, the Lions demanded that he return $7.3 million of the bonus. Sanders refused, and the Lions sued and eventually won a judgment against him."

Yeah poor Barry Sanders. What if Larry retired next year because hes tired of the Cardinals being garbage? I dont think the fans nor the franchise would appreciate that too much.

Even 3 star RB's look like Barry Sanders in HS youtube videos. Lets pump the brakes. Kid has an enormous amount of pressure to live up to.

Yup.
I see a kid who's more top-heavy than bucket, but still has amazing balance.
His highlight reel is also against lower level competition and he doesn't have his dad's wheels.
For those of you confusing the amazing pro career with the amazing college career, get refreshed here:

Larry just signed a new deal... if over the next two years the Cardinals make no effort to get better as a team, then I would expect him to demand a trade or release from his deal. Competitors want to win, not just be a one man show on a horrible team.

I thought this thread was gonna be about Ball going after Barry's college TD record. But Barry Jr. looks mighty talented. As good as Barry was, Bo was always my top rated RB
