Baseball Tonight did not have any good things to say

Peter Gammons on Baseball Tonight just said things are getting bad in Arizona. He said the front office is worried about declining attendance and then Kruk asked, "would you want to watch them?"

Gammons also said Webb will probably have surgery and they do not know when he will be back.

Our record is 30-46 -- .395 . We are last in our division, 18 games out.

We've lost our last 5, and 8 out of our last 10. Our record is pathetic at home.

And the front office has acknowledged that the fan base is abandoning the team.

It is getting worse, day by day.

We're not even at the All Star break and the season's over. The manager is trying to learn on the job and the players seem to be tolerating him instead of respecting him.

When a ball team struggles, the players either step up and express their support for the team and their manager...or they've given up. The Diamondbacks are still stepping up, still offering their support of the team -- but ain't nobody sayin' they support the manager.

Sad, sad.

I think the D-backs fan base is strong in state, as a second to the Cubs or whoever these clowns first teams are. BUT, no city would go to the games to watch this baseball right now. I'd take the 2004 team over this team any day. Worst team in baseball, but they were fun to watch still somehow.

They need to start getting rid of guys that aren't part of their core going forward: Davis, Garland, Clark, Tracy, the whole bullpen. I read that the BOS reliever Saito or whomever was being talked about in a deal with TEX for Hank Blalock, could we send Qualls to TEX for him. Qualls is decent and much younger than the BOS guy. The rest trade for prospects, relievers preferrably.
