Wow.

Urban wasn't kidding about the Cardinals shutting down media relations. Can't blame them with the media playing fast and loose with the truth.

Point being, I wonder how Mike McCoy's interview went this weekend.

Was curious about the same thing, but the fact that he can't actually sign until his team is out of the playoffs should slow down speculation with him for now. Though the longer the Cards go without naming a HC the more likely it will be McCoy.

Though also the more likely we get stuck holding the bag.

Nonsense. There are tons of qualified coaches on all the staffs that are still in the playoffs, and for teams that just excited. Watch: we'll hire Josh McDaniels and trade for Tebow.

This would actually cause me to quit my fandom.

I couldn't imagine how horrible that would be if that came true

Michael B keeps referring to some unnamed candidates he's interviewing. I wonder if this is so (& who those dudes* are) or whether it's just a PR/"leverage" statement.

* Not to make a Federal case, but - This seems as a time as any to ask: "Are there any female executives (or female relatives of owners) who are in influential spots in the FO's of any of the 32 teams? If not, are there any proactive programs at the League or individual team-level for developing female executive talent? (I recognize that, with very few rare exceptions, since women don't play the sport, they lack the attribute of having "been there." Still, you'd think that at least a few teams would have a female presence within their executive ranks.

Rita Benson-LeBlanc. She is basically the defacto owner of the Saints. Benson's still around, but he's really old and he's slowly given control to Rita over the years. There's a slight problem though.. Rita and Payton don't get along that well. In fact, the provision in Payton's contract that made the NFL void it was because Payton wanted insulation from having to work directly under Rita should Loomis ever be fired, or that's the scuttlebutt anyway. Recently Benson kind of exiled from the team for a while. Almost all of '11. No one knew why, but word is she was getting to big for her britches so he decided to teach her a lesson in humility or something. There's a poster on Saintsreport that said they used to work for her and she goes through assistants like hotcakes.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind working for her...
