Did they say if they were going to get someone else to be Baxter???? I always liked him and my grand daughter is wild about him.

I always thought it was creepy for Baxter/Willie the Wildcat to lure young unaccompanied kids to his "playland" in center field.

I hope they get rid of Baxter, he's the worst mascot in the Valley by far. He's an awful UA ripoff, bleck.

Me too! I'm not really a mascot fan as it is. They come out, shoot some $5.00 t-shirts to the crowd and show up at the mall for events.

It NEVER made sense having a bobcat as the mascot. Yes, I know it used to be "The BoB." But even then it was a ******** idea.

How about, oh, I don't know, a freaking snake? Wouldn't that make more sense?

I wan't totally paying attention but it sounded like the baxter guy was coming from a team function because he had the suit in the car with him. Unless he's totally creepy and wears it other places

According to the police report, an officer spotted David Hamilton traveling approximately 95 mph on the 101.

Hamilton, who was driving a Toyota Scion bearing the Diamondbacks' logo, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.155, according to the result of a toxicology report. That's close to twice the legal limit of .08. He also admitted to officers that he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day.

He had the mascot costume in the back seat and the D'backs logo on his car.

Derrick Hall says he is going to replace him as DBaxter.

That would be a great job for the summer if you have the time.

It's a full time job, I hear they make pretty good money. I think I read that the Gorilla pulls in $80,000 plus appearance fees

Well the Gorilla actually has a skillset, being acrobatic and all. I imagine mascots like Baxter who don't really do anything (just wiggle their heads back and forth and toss out tshirts) probably don't make quite as much. Plus the Gorilla is known as one of the best mascots in pro sports, Id imagine he makes more appearances than most.

I'm pretty sure the Gorilla gets over 250k just from the Suns, of course he actually does acrobatic stuff unlike baseball mascots.

Are you insinuating that Baxter the BOBcat is a Furry?

DAMN that would be hilarious to see him busted in costume at a 'yiff party'
