1- Cameron Erving, OL, Florida St.

I'm playing it safe here. He solidifies it all across the line. One of the safest picks they could make. We can not afford to have one of the T's out for any length of time as well.

Alt Picks: Gurley, RB, Gordon - RB, Shelton - NT, M. Brown - NT, B. Perriman - WR, K. Johnson – CB, R. Gregory - OLB

2- Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington

You might need to trade up a bit (48-51 SD, KC, Buff, Houston?). He would be a very nice addition speed wise to this D. Would fit nicely in a 4-2-5 alignment. Could keep R. Wilson running option in check. Has the athleticism to play WOLB as well in 3-4 alignment.

2a – Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise St.

Has size and some breakaway speed. Competion is only concern. I like Abdullah, but Ajayi has the size Cardinals want.

Alt Picks: E. Rowe – CB, Q. Rollins – CB, PJ Williams – CB, D. Randle – CB, T. Coleman – RB, D. Hunter – OLB, S. Anthony – ILB, B. McKinney – ILB, Cedric Ogbuehi – T, T. Lockett – WR (or another falling WR)

3- Trade with NE: NE gets 3(86) – Cardinals get 3(97), 4(101)

3a- Grady Jarrett, NT, Clemson

Fairly strong at POA, run stuffing lineman, decent motor. Might take him earlier than this.

Alt picks: Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan St., Javorius Allen, RB, USC, TJ Yeldon, RB, Alabama

3b- Alex Carter, CB, Stanford

This is a good reason for this trade. You can get some competition for Bethel and Powers down the road a bit.

Alt picks: Doran Grant, CB, Ohio St, D'Joun Smith, CB, Florida Atlantic, Senquez Golson, CB, Ole Miss, Ali Marpet, G/C, Hobart, T. Jackson – G, Florida St., Jeremiah Poutasi – G, Utah

4- Marcus Golden, OLB, Missouri / Lorenzo Mauldin, OLB, Louiseville / Jake Ryan, OLB, Michigan / Tre Flowers, OLB, Arkansas / Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington / Hayes Pullard, ILB, USC

One of these LB's should be available here. All can find a way onto the field and contribute. Some 40 times will cause some slip in the draft. This is the spot in the draft where they have some success at this position.

5- Jamison Crowder, WR/KR, Duke

This is the spot to pick up the WR, there should still be some very decent recievers on the board still at this spot.

Alt picks: Malcom Brown, RB, Texas, Matt Jones, RB, Florida,

6- Shane Carden, QB, East Carolina

Very productive college QB to push Logan Thomas some.

7a- Taiwan Jones, ILB, Michigan St. / Jeff Luc, ILB, Cincinnatti
Depth at the position. ST's or PS.

7b-(Mr. Irrelevant) :) - Laurence Gibson, T, Virginia Tech
OL depth help.

LOL. I did, 2nd Rd. I don't think Thompson will be available so I took Ajayi there.

IF Thompson IS available it changes the whole draft scenario.

To nit-pick, I don't think there is ANY way the team selects a QB, no matter how good a prospect he might be. They have already planned to give LT a ton of reps in order to find out if he's a keeper, and they have four QB's on the roster, already. I do hope we get Erving in the first.

How is picking a OL a "safe" pick?

He can play any of the O-Line positions at a high level. He can compete for starting jobs and is a really good insurance policy for this season.

Who backs up Veldheer?

I've been saying the same thing. Really like the draft except for taking a QB.
