Rob Neyer came up with a toy measure that he called the "Beane Count" after Billy Beane because it looks at how well a team is at hitting HRs and getting BBs and how well their pitching stops these events from occuring. Earl Weaver preached the BB and the 3-Run HR. There is a rather high correlation between the teams that score best in the Beane Count and teams that are in the playoffs. Here are our Beane Counts and rankings in the NL for the past 5 years (2003 up until now):

Code:
Year Beane Count Rank
1999 25.0 3rd
2000 35.5 8th
2001 19.5 2nd
2002 20.5 3rd
2003 49.0 16th

"Read the last sentence on more time nice and slow"?

Is that like doing something "on your own time"?
Or is it like being "on time" more often so you can proofread your posts?
Maybe it's like "Type the last sentence one more time nice and slow." :D

Well if it's 16 out of 16 that's

T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E

and

S-O-S

S-E-N-D
M-O-R-E
H-I-T-T-E-R-S
