Did anyone else notice that Beanie was in on multiple pass plays, and did an excellent job picking up the blitz on a few occasions? Plus, you didn't see any pressure/sacks when he tried to block. Man, that was a wonderful sight to see. He just keeps getting better and better.

Agreed. We are getting closer and closer to the time where Whiz will play his rookies more.

Unless I am mistaken, DRC starting appearing in big plays around weeks 12 and 13.

At some point the kid has be given the oppourtunity to start.

They mentioned that on the local news I believe. He is becoming a good receiver in the backfield too.

They did show at least one good block by beanie on replay during the game. He is coming along. Hopefully he busts a 50+ yarder against the Seahags

I hate when he comes out of the game. Love watching this guy play. He certainly can finish off a run.

Love his stiff arms and against Bears couple of times he carried a guy 2-3 yards with him before getting down.

I thought Hightower and Wells both did a very good job of blocking. Best we have had in sometime. I am anxious to see if these two guys are the real thing or the Bears were that bad? Life would sure be much better if they are coming into their own in the NFL.

Running Hightower and Wells in and out and both running well is a solid answer. Both keep fresh and both did very well. I think Hightower is our top receiver in number of catches and may be very high in the NFL in catches. He has not fumbled lately and I think he and Wells both punish tacklers rather than step out of bounds.

If you meant Hightower as our overall top receiver then that is not correct. He is #4. But that is still pretty good for a RB.

They both have fumbled 3 times with Beanie losing 1 and Hightower losing 2.

What I don't like about Wells is when the play is stuffed, he won't bust it up in there. He backs off and loses yardage. He did that a couple times on Sunday.

He was bashing down defenders in the pass protection. After seeing him last game, there isn't a doubt in my mind that he's ready.

That seems to be common amongst rook RBs IMO.

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw yesterday that Hightower is leading the NFL in catches for a RB.

A lot is being said and written about Beane. Keep in mind that Tim may have had one of his best games as a Cardinal against the Bears. He has been playing great ball. WE need him in there, for 3rd down blocking, and catching out of the backfield. He is a weapon.

...........

John was talking about number of catches. Hightower is second to Fitz in that catagory with 40. Larry has 56

Do you guys see using both of them in a formation? I haven't seen it happened yet....
I thought it did in the Bears game; dcr would know for sure...

edit: ...or not. He says he doesn't recall that.

I agree, although early in the game I was amazed by the crushing blow TIM-MAY delivered on a blitz pick up. I mean he knocked the blizter backwards.

Later in the game, I saw bennie stick his nose in there pretty good on a blitz pick up too. I was impressed, but I could not help but think that he was following TH's lead.

I'm a Bennie guy all the way. He reminds me of Otis Anderson, and I want him to be the starter because he looks like a special talent. Maybe, a VERY special talent (as in leading-the-league-in-rushing kind of talent).

But let's not undervalue what we have in TH ( and I think you've already posted this Stout). He's has great hands (generally), runs hard, is great in pass protection and is a viable option as a spot starter. He's young enough, talented enough, and hungry enough to keep Beenie motivated.

We're set at RB for a long time.

I'd like to see a 2/3 : 1/3 carry split, with Beanie getting the majority of the work.

Bingo. Crimson, you're absolutely right in that I still love what TH brings to the table. I can't help watching plays where Beanie's speed and quickness would have busted open a play where Timm-ay only gets decent yardage.

For the life of me I cannot recall the play--it was against the Bears, and I think we were driving from right to left on the TV--but the avenue was closing and there was a huuuuge cutback lane. TH saw it and took it, but it seemed like it took him for-ev-er to stop, cut back, and accelerate into the hole. I want to say it went for five or so yards, but MAN would Beanie have ripped off a big gainer on it.

Timmy is a good, solid player. Use him as a 3rd down back and to spell Beanie. Give Beanie the rock 20 times or more a game, and watch the yardage and wins pile up.
