Whats the size of his legs got to do with anything?

The only thing id want him to change is for him to plow through defenders instead of running out of bounds.

That is all. :)
Unless he is about to score or get a first down. I dont mind a player going out of bounds when it is clear they wont get much farther. Less chance of fumbling and lest chance for injury. Fitz will go out a bounds when he is surrounded.

Now if Beanie is 1 on 1 he better not run out a bounds.

there's not much to change then because he rarely does that.

Successful backs have thick legs.
OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson and a number of other succesful RB's disagree with you. That Simpson cat could really cut up a defense :).

Just in case anybody is worried about Beanie's athleticism.

This one happened against my alma mater last year, which made it particularly difficult to swallow... but Beanie is an absolute BEAST. As long as he can stay healthy, he's got perennial Pro Bowl potential.

Power comes from the thighs, not the lower leg.

Take another look and tell me that Wells doesn't have the legs for a RB...

Nonsense!

And I am not and have not been a "Beanie backer". But now that he is a Cardinal, I hope to become one.

No argument from me. I second the not a Beanie Backer before the draft but now, I love the pick.

His legs really are definitely small for a 235 pound running back, but Lott and co surely have 4 months of lower body workouts in store for him..so I'm not too worried.

I think they only get about 2 months of actual time to work with Wells. Aside from the minicamp, the NFL and NCAA have an agreement that they can't work with a rookie while he's still attending classes. OSU's classes end in like mid-June.

That dude is pure Muscle, I have seen him in person. Everyone will be shocked how good he is when 11 people on the defense don't know he is getting the ball every play, like at OSU. Franco Harris ran out of bounds almost every play and was considered one of the better running backs, he also played for years, that could have something to do with it.

Beanie only ran out of bounds a couple plays, its over played on how much it actually happened, more often than not he runs over people.
