If Healthy The Bean is a triple threat, He is due a great year, that will make Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly Proud, I see the talent as a power back, in traffic and the open field at 6'2" 230-- Beanie is a widow maker, He'll destroy defenses single handedly.

I don't find it comforting that the two players that we are counting on to be our top rushers are both recovering, and won't be ready to go until training camp. For once I'd like to see the Cards go after a solid veteran in situations like this.

Antonio Smith is garbage; he showed nothing to make me think he can even be a third stringer in the NFL.

The only plus to this is that maybe LSH gets more snaps, since he proved pretty useless as a kick returner under the new rules. Was it just more, or was LSH the worst KR that I watched last year? He went from stud to dud in one year as a kick returner. But he made game changing plays when called upon on offense last year.

The Bean set the franchise single game record last year? first time a Cards back had 1000 yards and 10 TD's ever? He did it hurt -on one leg - So that comforts me! I imagine a healthy Beanie could go for 2000 if he gets 7 carries every 1st 1/4 as he has asked for and 25 carries a game.

Defenses cringed at tackling him, no other RB in the game demands more attention and respect than beanie- He will end you.

One thing about the kickoffs is that LSH returned 21 fewer than the previous year. 52 in '09, 57 in '10 and only 36 in '11.

The median # of kick returns league wide, the # that would rank 16th overall in the NFL, dropped from 62-63 in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to 42 in 2011. Indication that the new rules were having a dramatic effect.

I think he's sitting at home because he doesn't THINK he should be cheap. That will change as camps get closer to opening and he's sees the market hasn't really changed for him.

I don't the Cards plan on bringing any RB in as long as Wells and Williams stay on track to be ready come training camp.

Beanie Wells is still in rehab mode from his January 24 right knee surgery and "doesn't know" when he'll be back on the field.
Wells' knee surgery was arthroscopic, his second of the sort over the past three offseasons. It's fairly concerning that he's not yet ready to practice. "I'm rehabbing, just trying to get back," said Wells. "... Being ready for training camp is the most important thing." Each of Arizona's top two backs -- the other being Ryan Williams -- are recovering from knee surgeries.

RB Beanie Wells is not going to do much, if anything, during OTAs. Wells had surgery on his right knee after the season, and the plan all along is to have him healthy for the start of training camp, said. Wells still won't reveal details about the surgery other than it was arthroscopic. He said it was more complicated that fixing torn meniscus.

Microfracture? I asked. He wouldn't say.

Picking up on your comment -

Do you feel that the Cardinals are going into preseason with a pretty good preset idea of what they want to do on both sides of the ball (& who they expect to go with)?

Or do you feel that Coach Wiz and his staff will be inclined to "wing it" , based on how things develop during Camp and the preseason games.

While I get the feeling that Ray Horton will use last season as a building-block from which to add even more exotic schemes to what already is a pretty exotic defense; I have the opposite feeling about the offense - whether it's pass pro, run blocking, route-running or QB play, I get the feeling that Wiz will "live off the land" when it comes to developing his offense - i.e. play the hot hand and be unafraid to change stuff in midstream if it isn't working.

At RB - or any other offensive position - I'd be inclined to wait and see how things unfold before making any fearless forecasts.
