I heard that Beanie's recent operation was "microfracture surgery"...

Two words that still bring chills to valley sports fans!

Beanie may yet save Whiz's career,Graves too! He is the engine that makes our 2 potential Hall of Recievers purr. He is more important than them and the QB. He'll either make a name for the oline, QB and the WR's or not.

Again Fitz's playoff records were dependent on THE EDGE establishing the run game, We ran 10 times in the Super bowl and Fitz was shut out until he exploded late in the 2nd half.

THE Bean had 14 carries for 92 yards in 09 GB playoff game against the #1 rush defense, Kurt and Fitz had the best game ever in the playoffs.
We had like 9 carries in the 09 Saints playoff game and folded like a taco with 6 minutes left in the 3rd 1/4! Even with the THT 70 yard TD opening play!

Curse me as a fool, but Kurt- Fitz-Q-Floyd are consistantly dependent on the run game, right now it's the Bean and RWILL too!

Picking up on your comment -

Do you feel that the Cardinals are going into preseason with a pretty good preset idea of what they want to do on both sides of the ball (& who they expect to go with)?

Or do you feel that Coach Wiz and his staff will be inclined to "wing it" , based on how things develop during Camp and the preseason games.

While I get the feeling that Ray Horton will use last season as a building-block from which to add even more exotic schemes to what already is a pretty exotic defense; I have the opposite feeling about the offense - whether it's pass pro, run blocking, route-running or QB play, I get the feeling that Wiz will "live off the land" when it comes to developing his offense - i.e. play the hot hand and be unafraid to change stuff in midstream if it isn't working.

At RB - or any other offensive position - I'd be inclined to wait and see how things unfold before making any fearless forecasts.

man... i am REALLY not comfortable going into a season where an already injury prone Beanie's surgery was "a little more complicated" than we initially thought and our other RB is a rookie coming back from pretty much the worst injury a running back can suffer.

I'd really like to see someone like a Bryan Grant brought in as insurance, but I'm also pretty sure that's not going to happen.

we've got good depth at at S, WR, CB, DL and I think the core of our LBers is at least solid and we've got two QBs who I think can be mediocre, but I'd be lying if I didn't say our O-line and depth at RB terrifies I'm curious to see how the O-line shakes out, but our depth at RB terrifies me.

Depth at RB?

There will be no such thing if either Wells or Williams is not healthy enough to play.

Quality depth RB's will become available during preseason cuts, better quality at a better price than are availble now, and we have no cap room. We are in salary cap jail or hell! I seen Mr Wells break our franchise game rushing record ON ONE LEG - He was knocked out regrouped an came back in that game.

I think they definitely have a plan and know what they expect from the players. To me, the roster is as set as it has been since Whiz arrived. The problem is when the plans go awry and that's where it seems like Whiz will wing it. That's how we got to see Max Hall start an NFL game. I think the only 2 questions, and they are huge questions, is who wins the QB job and the health of the RB's.

As for the microfracture stuff, I really doubt Wells had that surgery performed. For one, it's a major surgery and not too many players even get a hangnail these days without the media knowing about it. Secondly, as I said earlier, the Cards would know if he had microfracture and most assuredly would have addressed bringing in another RB. The microfracture talk, until I hear otherwise, is just an over-reaction by some.
