Their selling his replica jersey now. I thought I saw somewhere that he was trying to get #28 from Keith Lewis but that it wouldn't be done till he signed that big rookie contract (wish I could find the link). Knowing that, I wouldn't buy a jersey yet. Even then, its a replica. I'll just wait till the Premeir jersey comes out. But for those that have been looking, here ya go.

I still like the idea someone had of him wearing #31 to match his draft position and remind all the teams of what a mistake they made.

I love the idea of him wearing #31. When I took my nephew to the camp at the training facility I even told him about our idea. He laughed and said it was a great idea but that 28 had its own meaning to him too (didn't tell me the meaning though). At least the seed is planted lol. Wouldn't it be great seeing him wear 31 and knowing we had something to do with it?

I was in the Fiesta Mall in Mesa yesterday and noticed that a sporting goods shop had Beanie Wells jerseys for $80. I can't remember the name of the place, but it's upstairs cata-corner from the Sears store.

I've bought a couple jerseys from there, too bad I can't remember the name either.

If Wells turned out to be great, wouldn't buying a #26 jersey--if he changed--actually have more value as a collectors item?

It would be a waste of money if he doesn't make the final roster and gets cut.

The first mistake was being in Mesa to begin with.. Its a very forgettable place, so I can see how it escapes you.. :D

Someone once told me that Mesa is just an extension of the Apache Junction city limits.:D

He has never seemed overly concerned with the idea of being drafted at #31. I have never once heard him refernece "making teams pay" or anything like that. In fact he has gone on and on about how he is just "grateful and lucky to be playing in the NFL"....

I kind of like that - shows an internal confidence and only being worried about what he can control.

Opposed to Eben Britton and his insistence that every team that passed him will "rue the day until the end of the franchise" it seems like Beanie doesn't need the superficial chip on his shoulder.

I can certainly go along with that but I wasn't implying it be used as motivation just added incentive.

Can someone tell me that last time any team did not bring their first round pick to the final roster the next year? I'd have to imagine that it has been at least a decade or more.

Even Tony Mandarich lasted 3 years or so in Green Bay.

I do know of several #1's that made the final roster but didn't know it. Wendall Bryant comes to mind.

Other guys who wore #26 for the Cards: Chuck Cecil, Thomas Jones, and Homer Ledbetter.

It would have to be someone who died or had a life threatening injury or something. I can't imagine any other reason..... well, these days, getting in trouble with the law is certainly possible as well.

How about Demetrius (sp?) Underwood? I remember the Vikings took him and he went nuts, only to come back with the Cowpukes and do the same thing. I thought he went AWOL from his first Vike's camp.
