I do wanna see it and I want to see him get more carries than TH. In a perfrect world IMO I would like to see Beanie with about 15-20 carries a game and Timmy with about 10-12.

What I can't stand is the constant barrage around here of people calling Beanie an elite RB or implying that he is. He just isn't in that echelon yet nor should he spoken about as though he is. Almost everyone calls him a game breaker. Yet the only one showing game breaking ability as of late is Timmy. I truly believe Beanie is more talented and should get the bulk of the carries. But Timmy needs to see the ball as well. I also think that Beanie is long overdue for a TD of over 50 yards to back up all this talk about being a game breaker.

It annoys me that people will put down Timmy in the process as though he isnt a decent RB. I'm not saying you BTW.

I understand wanting Beanie but why spite Timmy in the process?

Once again you took the words right out of my mouth.

This team is in a prime position for a total melt down. I really think Beanie might one day be special, but that day has not come and it isnt for not getting play time. He is still learning. But the fact that he is making these comments cannot turn out well. It never does for any player on any team, but I think moreso on this team. All of them are clearly frustrated, but once the "Me" and "I" comments start that is not good.

I think the meltdown happens after the thrashing the Saints give us this weekend

I'd be pissed too if I were Wells. He's better than TH, no question about it. Just like Leinart was better than DA. Just like Williams or Watson is better than Robinson. Just like Hadnot is better than Sack Machine. Or that Cody Freaking Brown is probably better than Porter. The "best player plays" bit is a total freaking sham at this point, and we're the worst team in our division because of it. No joke, we are the bottom feeders of a crap division. This is nuts.
couldn't have said it better myself. I agree 100%.

Ottis Anderson, the guy nobody thinks should be in the HOF, started day 1 as a rookie. This is Wells seconds season. Enough learning from the bench. If he was worth the number one pick play him. Give him 20-25 carries a game. Williams was drafted number one. This team SUCKS. There is absolutely no reason to not play Williams. Put him out there and leave him out there. On the field is the only place he will learn howw to play.

Beanie's to damn brittle for 20+ VERY VERY few RB's get 320 carries a season. Yet you want Beanie to get more than that. Wishful thinking my friend.

Then it was a wasted number one draft pick.

Hightower has proven himself to not be a game changer. He is not an elite back. Wells was in college and we will never know if he is as a pro if he isnt given the ball 20-25 times a game.

We are laughing at the implosion going on in SF and we have one quickly developing right here with the Cardinals.

Whiz is so close to losing this team it isn't funny. I suspect what Whiz says and what Whiz does is two different things and players are catching on to it. I always thought the whole Leinart thing stunk and now we have Wells going off. Benching a guy because he's 2 pounds overweight is just ludicrous.

I have a feeling that Whiz is not being for forthright with the players and his ego has grown so much over the last two years that it gets in the way.

I guess Whiz thinks he is the only reason for the teams success the last two years and Warner, Haley, etc. had nothing to do with it.

He selected Davis as the DC who is way in over his head. There is a split OC which is unheard of. I am starting to believe that some here were absolutely right when they stated that Warner had more to do with the success of this team than he was being given credit for.

In a van...down by the river.
My 2 cents,
You guys went from a HOF QB to no QB, while still fielding a very talented team....thats tough.
Yeah, the front office/coaching staff made a mistake by not attempting to even remotely replace Warner......or modify the philosophy(HUGE mistake),.

IMO the organization is feeling this massive blunder and it's trickling down week by week.
Honestly,i'm not talking **** here Cards fans(i've been respectfull thru 4 weeks).....you guys STILL have the most talented team in the division, but as many of you already know its a QB's league now.

It may be too late to salvage your QB situation this season but its up to the coaching staff to decide what kind of team you're going to be even w/out a legit QB(as a Rams fan i know about this. LOL).

The AZ Cardinals are a legit QB away from being the best in the West....just like that.
So if i'm Whiz and company i either go out and make something happen b4 the deadline(which is reaching).....OR....$hit or get off the pot in terms of establishing a Well's/Hightower/Howling we're-gonna-run-the-football-all-day type of offense.

Your defense is spent....tired,gassed...whatever,already after 4 weeks. They dont suck. Again,i know about servicable defenses getting worn out due to anemic offense (as a Rams fan).

I dont want to ramble on too much here but you guys(IMO) are far from having to junk this thing and rebuild. Focus the philosophy to your strengths, kick your OLine in the ass and support the defense as best you can until the time comes when you can bring in a LEGIT QB via FA or the draft.

Beanie Wells wants the ball,Hightower wants the ball, and all NFL Olinemen love to runblock. Wake up Whiz.

PS: If i'm the Cards braintrust i'm looking to deal for a quality pass catching TE before the deadline to help out the young QB.

Peace.

Russ, watch the line play a little more closely. Dockett and Campbell are not being put into position to succeed. They are paired with two small 30+ year old OLBs and Robinson and backed up by a 30+ year old Paris Lenon and the featherweight defensive rookie of the year.

Opposing OCs see this and game plan to take out the only real defensive weapons the Cards have. Dockett and Campbell. Its like having Albert Pujols with a .235 hitter batting behind him.

Ummmm...no.

You must be a motivational speaker. Watch out for those coffee tables. Maybe you could fly down to Phoenix and give a little motivational speech to the coaching staff here. :D

Good post and all points are valid. Can't help but think about how far we have fallen. Ram fans are now consoling us. Things can change in a hurry and the QB position can make or break you overnight.

Two issues here -

1. Should the young 'un be opening up his mouth in public? (Hmmm. I'm kind of old school & wish Beanie had kept things within the family).

2. Did we go away from the run too early? (Yup. Actually let me make that YUP!). Not only didn't our RB's get enough touches; we almost got Hall killed back there (since no one on SD had to respect our run game). One characteristic of resiliant pro teams is that - even when they're down by 14 , 17, 21 points, they'll continue to pound the rock even though it seems counterintuitive.

Sounds like a key player on this team is extremely frustrated more with the overall situation and believes he can help with more time.

But he also has to understand a couple of things:

a) We were playing behind the entire game, which means we had to air it out. Carries were few and far between (14 total carries; Timmy had 7, Beanie had 5).

b) Pass protection was God awful. Line allowed 9 sacks. Hightower is better at blocking than Beanie and he has acknowledged that this is a weak point in his game.

c) Whis was in Defcon 1 all game. He replaced the friggin QB half way into the 2nd Quarter. And since Beanie is coming off surgery on his knee, he probably thought it wasnt worth it to put him in harm's way since we were airing out. Same could be said about Fitz, but to get back into the game, we need our best WR in the game and our depth at that position was shallow.

Other than the "I don't know what they're thinking up there" comment, I don't see where he said anything wrong and was only answering a question. I don't even think that comment was so bad bceause none of us know what they're thinking up there. Of course that may get him de-activated with the way things to seem to be going these days.

Bottom Line -

Wells has not been 100%.

HT has been outperforming him, and it's not really that close.

The only controversy I see is the playcalling. They need to be keeping the run established then pass off of it. Even when they get behind.

Yep completely agree. IF I were a coach I would WANT players who want to play. RB by committee can work, but if you don't have guys who want the ball more you probably don't have good players. Beanie is correct he's not playing enough if he's healthy, and if he's not healthy he shouldn't be playing.

Aaron Rodgers said on Sunday he didn't understand why the Pack didn't use more multiple receiver and shotgun looks in their game. McCarthy said we had them in the gameplan but circumstances in the game dictated how often we used them. Rodgers' comments were pretty comparable to what Beanie said, and his coach seemed fine with them, I'm hoping Whiz takes the comments from Beanie the same way, kid is a competitor.

This really is an over statement. THT has one good play. Other than that he has not been outperforming him. Wells has had more YPC than THT in both of the last two games. That 80 yard run is a statistical outlier that is inflating his number. Not to take it away from him but over the course of the season it will balance in and Wells' numbers will clearly be better. In fact they may be better as soon as next week.
