The 2025 NFL draft is finally upon us, and the Chicago Bears are preparing to welcome a new group of rookies to the roster.

The Bears are sitting in a great position with four picks in the Top 75, which includes the 10th overall pick, two high second-round selections (Nos. 39, 41) and a high third-rounder (No. 72). Following an impactful offseason where they shored up the offensive and defensive lines, they're now in a position to draft the best available player rather than address a specific need.

There have been no shortage of reports, rumors and rumblings coming from NFL insiders about how the Bears are approaching the 10th overall selection. We're keeping track of all of the draft-related rumors and news surrounding the Bears heading into Round 1.

Bears "praying" Ashton Jeanty falls to 10

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the belief around the NFL is that the Bears are "praying" that Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty falls to them at 10th overall.

There are multiple personnel people who believe the Bears are praying that Jeanty slips to them at No. 10. They think new Bears coach Ben Johnson could feature Jeanty and D'Andre Swift as a two-headed duo the way the Lions did with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs when Johnson was Detroit's offensive coordinator.

Is there a chance? Of course. But the biggest obstacle will be the Las Vegas Raiders, who are sitting at sixth overall and have been connected to Jeanty for a while now. It also sounds like the Jacksonville Jaguars might be considering Jeanty at No. 5 -- or perhaps that's bait to get Chicago to try and trade up?

Bears could be eyeing OT Josh Conerly Jr. at No. 10

Chicago will have their pick of prospects to choose from at 10th overall, and it sounds like there's a dark horse emerging. According to NFL insider Tony Pauline, the Bears are considering Oregon left tackle Josh Conerly Jr. at 10.

I’m told the Bears not only like his skill on the field, but they became enamored with Conerly when he visited the franchise. The three-year starter came across as a seasoned veteran and very professional.

Josh Conerly Jr. of Oregon could end up being chosen earlier than most predict, and the expected range for the junior is picks 10 to 25. And while the 10th pick, presently held by the Chicago Bears, seems early, I’m told it is a real possibility. The Bears are looking for a blocker who can play guard or tackle, and that perfectly describes Conerly. He’s presently the No. 1 guard on my board, yet many if not most teams project him at tackle.

Conerly, 21, seems to have endeared himself to general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Ben Johnson and staff during his pre-draft visit, so it wouldn't be a big surprise to see the Bears go in that direction.

Could Bears consider trading up for Ashton Jeanty?

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, there's been plenty of interest in Ashton Jeanty -- where he name-dropped the Bears (No. 10), Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6) and Dallas Cowboys (No. 12) -- which could make for some movement on draft night. Jeanty only took three Top 30 visits this pre-draft seasons: Chicago, Dallas and Las Vegas. Which has Pelissero (and all of us) wondering: Could the Bears or Cowboys make a move to trade up for Jeanty?

"My question is: Does somebody, for a running back, decide that in order to get him, we've got to trade up above the Raiders to ensure that we get him."

Pelissero noted that the Jacksonville Jaguars, sitting in that No. 5 spot, have a first-year general manager and could be open for business.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer also mentioned the Bears potentially trading up for Jeanty.

If there’s a player who will elicit a trade up into the top 10, I think it will be Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty—whether it’s the Denver Broncos taking a big swing or the Chicago Bears making a shorter move to leapfrog another team....Bottom line: The Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver or Chicago could look at Jeanty and see a player who could stabilize your offense, and put your quarterback in second-and-6 and third-and-2 more often, and give him lay-ups in the passing game.

Bears considering Colston Loveland as Plan B?

One name that's gained a lot of steam with the Bears is Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, who head coach Ben Johnson raved about and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen noted how much of a headache he'll be for opposing defenses. But what happens if Warren isn't available? According to The Ringer's Todd McShay, the Bears could consider drafting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland should Warren be off the board by No. 10.

While some Bears fans might not be keen to selecting a tight end at 10th overall, McShay believes that Warren and Loveland could have a big impact in Chicago. Especially with Johnson now calling the shots on offense.

"Call me in October when your young quarterback who had all that trouble last year now has a coach that can cook up some schemes in the lab and utilize those two tight ends," McShay said. "Now we can be in 12-personnel, and now we are a headache."

Bears already have a plan in place for Will Campbell (should he be drafted)

LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell is widely considered the best offensive lineman in this draft class, and he's a top target for the Bears. Unfortunately, he's also captured the attention of the New England Patriots, who are sitting at fourth overall.

Campbell had a pre-draft visit with the Bears, and he revealed that they already told him where he would be lining up on this offensive line -- if he lands with Chicago.

“If they draft me, I’m playing left tackle," Campbell said Wednesday, via Jason Lieser.

Bears wanted a Top 30 meeting with Abdul Carter but were declined

The Bears have done their due diligence on some of the top prospects in this draft class. And while Chicago won't be in contention for edge rusher Abdul Carter, they still requested a Top 30 pre-draft visit with the Penn State star. But Drew Rosenhaus, Carter's agent, revealed on "Hey Rookie: Welcome to the NFL" that Chicago and Dallas Cowboys wanted Carter to visit them but were declined. Carter only visited with the top four teams in the draft.

While the intent is clear -- Carter doesn't expect to go outside the top four picks -- he didn't necessarily take into account that other teams could be looking to trade up for him. Whether that's the case with the Bears remains to be seen.

Bears could go offensive tackle if Ashton Jeanty is off the board

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, multiple NFL execs believe the Bears could be looking to add an offensive tackle to the roster if Ashton Jeanty is gone by 10th overall.

Offense could be the focus at the back of the top 10 and into the teens. The Bears (No. 10) have been linked to skill players such as Jeanty and Warren. If Jeanty is for some reason there at No. 10, the word is Chicago loves him. If not, multiple execs believe offensive tackle makes more sense. "Caleb Williams was sacked like 90 times last year," a veteran NFL personnel man said. (He was sacked 68 times, but point taken.)
