The Chicago Bears will sign former Denver Broncos wide receiver Bennie Fowler to a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Fowler joined the Broncos in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Michigan State. At 6-1, 217 pounds, he replaces some of the size lost with Cameron Meredith’s departure. Fowler had a career-high 29 catches for 350 yards and three touchdowns in 2017. The Bears have a need at wide receiver behind Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel. Former first-round pick Kevin White will be given the first crack to be the third receiver in the pecking order, but his track record suggests Fowler will have a great opportunity to contribute in 2018.
