Kinda looks like the market is getting smaller for the Shelton trade. I still think trading him for the Bucs 2nd rounder is the best way to go. It will be a high 2nd, coupled with our pick, it would be great.

We should pull the trigger and trade Shelton to Tampa for there second rounder. Shelton's value has topped out and it would be a good time to trade him before Tampa picks up a new OT.

I agree...I have heard this tossed around a number of times, but never have seen where Tampa is a willing participant in this??

I think this is the wishful thinking of the board!

funny, i was gonna ask too. seems everyone just accepts as fact that tb is just waiting to trade us their high second round pick for shelton. we've heard nary a peep about this possibility in weeks, right? i don't see it happening.

Let me repeat myself and reinforce john h. We are better off keeping a motivated Shelton than trading him. He would be an immediate starter at RG and a good backup for Big at LT.

LJ is willing to play guard. He just wants to play. And management is making it clear they won't just give him away. I predict he finishes his current contract here.

LJ told me when all this is over, he'll write up an article for us. He still checks here every day.

that's pretty cool - I think LJ's a good player and I wouldn't mind if he traded and I wouldn't mind if he stayed on - it's a win win for the Cardinals either way I think.

As much as I really don't like the Ross signing...Miller would have been much much worse, IMO.

I really like all the Shelton trade talk, but I really would like to keep him... especially if he comes into camp healthy. If he's not healthy, he wouldn't be getting all the trade interest.

IF we can't get something special for him, I would _love_ to see him start at RG. If we do trade him I think its essential we keep Clement. I can see one on the trade block, but not both... I _think_ the Cardinals feel the same way.

LJ, not sure what the issues are regarding your relationship with Green, but I would love to see you stay and contribute to the Cardinals turn-around.

Who knows, it might be in the works for Shelton to play RT and Ross to play RG. Denny says the O-Line is now set. In any case, if the Cards do not get a high 2nd, its not worth a trade. I'd just as soon keep Shelton and have the line set duriing training camp for whoever's going to play RT and RG. Shelton did not do that bad on the right side, given the time he had to prepare. JMO.

wow. i never even knew he checked. i know i slammed the entire oline (inclusive of LJ), but i hope i've not said anything to directly insult him.

i'll be honest, i think denny's set with his oline and i don't think it includes LJ. that said, he's making too much cashola to be a depth guy. i think it best that we get what we can for him and allow him to continue his career elsewhere.

The bears were a long shot of trading for Shelton, in the first place. They were never going to offer their 2nd rounder or they would only have 1 pick in the first 3 rounds. Plus they dont have the horses to be able to offer a player plus a 2nd day pick.
