The Rams are acting like a team aware that championship windows can shut quickly. They're building to win now and not later. I'm not mad at them for trying to put a team in place to win now, even though they have a lot of young stars. Meanwhile, we're putting a team together that might resemble the post-1998 teams.

Didn't cardinals spend a top 5 pick on Fitz and pay him despite no QBs for a good 7 years of his Cardinals life?
Fitz was drafted in 2004. His lean QB years were 2004-05, 2010-12. That's it. Otherwise it was Warner in 2007-2009 and Palmer from 2013-2017 although he was injured for half that time.

Plot twist. Should the Rams care about extending Gurley when his deal is up? He’s already racked up well over 900 touches in three seasons and had a major knee injury in college.

They’d have Goff-Gurley-Beckham-Woods-Kupp combo for two years. Of course OBJ would be extended upon the trade...

do you honestly think they would have if his godfather wasnt running our drafts at the time? I mean, it obviously paid off, look at all the Lombardy trophies we have accumulated with our HoF WR

Lets see:

From 1988 - 2003:
One Winning Season
One Playoff Appearance
One Playoff Win
No Division Titles
14 Losing Seasons

From 2004 to 2017:
Five Winning Seasons
Four Playoff Appearances
Five Playoff Wins
Three Division Titles
One NFC Championship
Six Losing Seasons

Since one player can't win a Super Bowl by himself (though Fitz nearly did in 2008) I would say the results are favorable since we drafted him compared to the years in AZ before.

I think it shows just how much of a force that Larry has been that the Cardinals have won as much as they have. To have that kind of impact from the WR position is pretty incredible.
